Martin Lewis is such a well-known champion for the little people, the consumer. If enough of us on his forum have the same experience of the FOS (cow-towing to financial institutions instead of getting our money BACK from these huge corporations) then maybe we should get some sort of barrage of letters, perhaps one format sent to the FSA, consumer rights people, the BBC, the government from every one of us - THEN something might be done.
It so galls me that we humans have to pay the rent, feed the kids, get to work (if we're lucky enough to have a job) but these companies are allowed to sit on ill-gotten gains and have all the time in the world to pay because god forbid their profits should suffer! But we have to forego the dentist visit, breakfast, lose our homes even - lives at worst destroyed and at best we might lose sleep with worry.
Thank god for Martin Lewis bringing us all together in the first place by publicising this because personally, I could have gone on paying through the nose for something tacked on that would never pay out when I needed it. We're better off than we would have been. Now we need to take this all the way. If I dont pay the bills, Im not given 2 years to pay!

I hopefully have had all the help I need just reading the posts. I sent the first letter last week , downloaded from the site, & am awaiting a reply. Only upset there is no 'dealing with rogue bathroom fitters thread' but it is just another case of bussineses(one of my cannot spell words but we are all alllowed some) being king & consumers being the little people.
Thanks to Martin all you guys & this site I have now realised being MRS ANGRY might win sometimes but knowing your facts & having the law on your side is better0 -

Well done for making a start on this, just keep on at them, if they refuse to uphold in your favour then write back and tell them you want this investigated or you will take further action on this matter. (Such as the FOS) etc.
I had a kitchen through a rogue dealer a few years back, I know how you feel.....it's very disheartening and so damn frustrating.... He was on the TV as well, luckily I did not break/or crack the screen when I seen him on there, he was actually on "Rogue Trader"......
But anyway, keep strong, you will get there, and stand your ground, we are all here for you.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Once upon a time, the customer was "always right", we were treated with respect. Now if you phone with a complaint, you're made to feel like an idiot or worse. Very rarely there are visions of light in the darkness but they are hard to find. It IS true that this is where the consumer votes with their feet. Stop using them and complain and complain (politely but insistantly) till your rights are at last observed.
One excception, in my experience is John Lewis. More expensive for some things but at least you know if things go wrong, their customer service department is second to none. No I dont work for them ha ha. I work for an oil company.

lol......:D;).
My trading standards were very good as well, in regards of my kitchen and luckily I did not go as far as the FOS, they paid up with what they did not supply us with, so many parts were missing, I made sure they compensated on a distress payment as well, we were lucky, but read that not everyone who complained were...The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

My OH pointed out that there is more than one way to skin a cat. Most businnesses (this word again) are by word of mouth & my hairdresser knows everyone in our town, I have made an appointment for Saturday to get my roots done:rotfl:0 -
Thanks for your support

And Im a PA for a large company ....I'm also very quick to tell everybody when a business (thats how to spell it) actually goes the extra yard. They deserve the credit, the customers, the profit, the success! As for the other lot.... Isnt it true that one of the things that really galls the bloke/lass in the street, is that if we make a mess, we get sacked. This lot just go on and on and on and they get paid bonuses as WELL!
