hi there do as dialysys says check to see what you are covered for, if for redundancy check to see how long you have to wait before you can put a claim in and for how long they will pay your monthly payment for, as you dont know what money you will get back from mis sell you will not be able to make a choice of what is better for you, either to claim on the mis sell or claim cover under the ppi, as you know if you make a claim on the ppi you had a policy fit for purpose and that will invalidate your mis sell claim, so if i were you i would think long and hard about this as it will cost you dearly if you make the wrong decision now. its a pity you dont know how much you will be getting from mis sell, for my money i think picture would love you to claim on the ppi as then the insurance company pay you and it doesnt cost picture a penny, they shouldnt be allowed to get off so lightly

I agree with amersall on this one;) Wouldn't like to see you lose out

    Hi all

Just to let you know I contact Lloyds TSB today as I've still not heard and they advised me that a final response was sent to me dated 07 August. I've asked them to send it out again as I never received it. I'm having problems with my mail ... last thing I need!

I can't see the outcome being favourable, so any suggestions as to what I should do if I'm refused? Can I apply to the FOS, is it a form I fill in, do I need any paperwork as I have none.

I've got no paperwork, just know that I was transferred to a mastercard from a visa card and never completed any application form to indicate payment protection and this visa card was a card which originally was a TSB card but became a Lloyds TSB when they merged many years ago. Again I was never given a choice to have Payment protection on my card and it was just applied.

    All info greatly appreciated.

    Jools

    Hi Jools

Sorry I did not post up any earlier, but yes there is a form of complaint on the FOS website, you can download and print, or you can ring them to arrange for a form to be sent to you, maybe in your case due to postal problems, if you can try to print the form off then.
    Here:
    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm
Enclose the copy of the letter you receive, if its not in your favour.

Lloyds TSB may also give you the opportunity to write back to them with further information if they have not resolved this for you.

For more information you could try requesting a Subject Access Request (SAR), they have 40 days to comply, and send you everything as requested on the SAR template, although there is a £10 cheque or postal order charge for this request, it may be worth your while and help your case, where you may need to send in further evidence to the FOS on complaint.

    SAR template here:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1475553

Hope this helps, good luck and post by recorded delivery as well, here is the address to Lloyds TSB for the request of an SAR, the one I used anyway:

    RECOVERY TEAM

  • evening peeps,

i have recieved a letter today from lloyds with regard to my ppi claim , its says that as they compensated me the ngoodwill gesture(£200) on a previous ppi claim that they dont not need to give it me again as per fos agreement , does anyone know if this is common practice or are they just trying it on ?

Hi we cancelled our PPI 28 months into the policy and monthly repayment was only reduced from £350 to £348 - saving £2 a month. 2 months later we paid off Picture when we transferred the debt to the mortgage, and there was no PPI rebate as the policy had been cancelled.

Not sure what to advise on this.
If your husband is unfortunate to be made redundant and you do make a successful claim, yu will not be able to say it was mis-sold

hi busbyh, you should have had a rebate when you cancelled were you mis sold the ppi?my friend last week won her case for mis sell as it was a front loaded insurance and she had previously cancelled her ppi, the fos told her cancelling and mis sell were two different claims. she was not aware that the front loaded ppi was over the whole term of the loan and she was only covered for the first five years. give it a go you have nothing to lose and everything to gain

if you accepted the good will gesture i am not sure but i think thats right, unless you were not aware that you could have gone for the whole refund, why not write to whoever dealt with your original mis sell and tell them that since you had your last claim certain things have come to light and you believe you were mislead by the bank? and was not aware that you could go for the whole thing, you dont know unless you try, good luck
