    Hi there,

Newbie here, .... so be gentle with me.

I am in the process of claiming back CC payment protection from Lloyds TSB. I have only just noticed that I have been paying payment protection thru finding this website a few months back.

A few years ago they changed my card from a visa card to a new mastercard and I received no paperwork or agreed to Payment protection on this or the previous Lloyds TSB card which I had which I was transferred to when the Lloyds and TSB merged many years ago.

I am halfway thru my 8 weeks and I had an update letter recently to say that they have not been able to resolve my complaint and will continue to look into the issues I've raised. Apparently, it's takin them longer to gather all info but should be able to respond to me within the next 4 weeks.

I don't have any documentation but what I do know is that I was never given the choice to accept/decline this cover so I'm hoping that this will stand me in good stead.

What do you think? Have I a chance?

I was successful in claiming back ppi from A&L, in fact they actually contacted me to ask if I had been missold and I advised them that I was told I could only get the loan if I took ppi and I got £1700 back :D

First of all well done and congratulations on your success with A&L
    :beer::T:beer:.

And yes I think you do stand a chance of reclaiming from Lloyds tsb, you have received one of their standard responses, so keep at them and just as long as the 8 weeks have passed your still entitled to move on to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) if you want to, you can still prepare a complaint form as well, it's entirely up to you, but if your willing to wait a little longer you can do that too.

If you no paperwork, write to them to request for a true copy of the CCA (Agreement), enclose a £1 by postal order or cheque payment and they should post by 12 days, also it is best as well if you also post by recorded delivery, as this would be your proof of posting.
Good luck and if you require any help, just ask.:D;)

Hi there i am new to this and just wondered what i have to do to find out if i was mis sold a ppi with my loans from llyods tsb bank. Many thanks Carla

    Hello Carla and welcome.;)

There are many reasons for mis selling of PPI.

    You may have been pressurised.
The PPI may have been added automatically.
You may have already had protection elsewhere, such as with your employer.
You may have had a medical condition when you taken out the policy, where if you tried to make a claim you would not be successful.
You may have been working less than 16 hours a week, or not even working at all and just receiving benefits.

However, check this link here below, with a checklist, and there are also template letters to help you through this, you just add your own reasons.
They have 8 weeks in full to respond.
If they do not resolve your complaint in your favour by the time they issue you with a final response, you can take your complaint to the financial ombudsman service (FOS), they should give you these details on the final letter.

Good luck with this and if your require any help, just ask, and remember to post all letters by recorded delivery.;)

Hi long time no see - sorry:o

I have just had a letter from an insurance company saying we had payment protection on our mortgage some time ago paying a one off premium it is now due to expire within the next few months.

We didnt even know we had done this I am going to write to them for more info cos we dont have any paperwork on it.
Might have to be a SAR if they wont give it voluntarily!!

We already have ppi for our mortgage at the moment so cant believe we have been paying for 2 ppi s for the same thing!! and we are claiming on the one we know cos I am still out of work.
Just wanted to know if anyone had heard of Commitments Insurance based in Gloucestershire

Hi arthurdick, hope your well, not doing too bad thank you.:A

Hmm, well they must have had some sort of business running then.

Just a thought, maybe it will be worth checking on "Companies House Search" tomorrow, as I believe their search for the company link is not available on Sunday's.
Monday to Saturday until mid night I believe you can do the search.;)

Good luck with this, and another thought is if they are no longer active, it may be one with the compensation scheme (FSCS), where you can make your claim through them.;)XXX
