PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Hi di3004, It all seems so unfair, we have so many grounds for winning this case and the PPI cost us £4700 on an uprfront premium, and thats alot of money to us I can tell you!
I know exactly how you feel hun, I have been there as well, the most annoying part is when the FOS return your case and tell you to contact the FLA, then most of the time we are all turned away from them as well, its a horrible feeling isn't it?
But maybe worth speaking to your CAB about this and see if there is anything they can do to help, also make them aware you have already been through the procedures, which ended up with the FOS, then returned to you.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
I used the first template letter to write to RBS for claiming PPI back on my credit card as I was unemployed at the time of taking it out, but they have written back saying that they are unable to process the matter as I have not provided them with details of the specific policy or loan account number.
Surely the credit card number would be enough for them to find out this information. I have gone back through all my paperwork for the credit card back to when I first took it out and have no information regarding the PPI that was attached to this account.
Any ideas on how I should proceed?
TIANatwest Current Account: £945 (£950 limit (apparently there is money there, but I can't get to it!))0 -
Good morning,
Can anyone explain (in simple terms please) how the 8% interest back works. Is it applied to the whole amount after the compound interest is added? Is it applied to each ppi payment, before or after compound interest? Is it for each year since ppi taken out? etc.
Thanks for all answers.0 -
I have rang A&L this morning and they told me that I still have not been allocated a case worker yet.
They said they had till the 24th of July to give me a response but the girl said she would e mail the department and get this brought forward for me.
This must think I am a pest but it is annoying when I am told that they haven't looked at my complaint as they have had it 6 weeks now
Showergirl is making coffee I do not know what I would do without her support and the use of her computer0 -

Hi TIA,
May I ask how long ago it was when you taken this out?
Was it the last 6 years?
If so then yes they should be able to track down your information.
If this is the case and they are not dealing with this contact the information commissioners office (ICO), and ask them if they can help, here:

Good luck and please let us know how you get on.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Gumbi here....The day has finally arrived!!!!
See copy of email from FSCS this morning:
Thank you for your emails dated 17 June 2009 and 30 June 2009 about your claim for compensation against Picture Financial Services Plc (“Picture”).
I am sorry that you are unhappy with the way your claim has been handled to date, and that you consider there have been unreasonable delays regarding the investigation into Picture.
I can confirm that your MP, James Arbuthnot, has contacted us about this matter. I am enclosing a copy of our reply to him. That letter notes that Picture was declared “in default” on 8 July 2009, and explains the reasons why we were not in a position to issue the default declaration at an earlier date.
In your email of 30 June 2009 you have suggested that the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) may have investigated areas which have previously been reviewed by the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS). However, as our email of 26 May 2009 explained, when establishing the criteria to consider Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) claims, we have worked closely with others in the regulatory sector, including the Financial Services Authority (FSA) and the FOS, to avoid any duplication of work. However, we must assess claims in line with our rules, as made by the FSA, and our policies, as agreed by our Board of Directors. FSCS operates under a different set of rules to FOS, which means there can be differences in the approach taken between the two organisations.
As a default declaration has been issued against Picture, we are now in a position to consider whether your claim for compensation is eligible for compensation under our rules. If your claim is eligible, we will calculate what loss, if any, you have incurred as a result of the advice you received from Picture.
In this respect, we have taken steps to ensure that we provide as prompt and efficient service as possible to investors, and have sought additional resources to enable us to do this. We have therefore outsourced selected claims, including yours, to Deloittes who are assisting us with the assessment of Picture claims.
Although I am unable to give you an exact timescale for your claim to be completed, as you can see we are making progress in this matter. Please be assured that we will send you our decision on your claim as soon as we can.

Hi hun
This may vary depending if its loan, credit card etc, but for more info, check the link that Maxdp posted on another link in how the FOS calculate here:

Hope this helps.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
