  • Would someone mind having a quick gander at my letter? I tried to stray from using the standard one in case I have to chase it up if they dismiss it. Cheers!

    ================================

I write regarding the above Graduate Loan account, which was held at the Cross Street, Manchester branch. As the branch is now closed, I am writing to your branch as the one in closest proximity to where the account was originally held.

My complaint relates to the payment protection insurance (PPI) that was sold to me with the loan. The policy was mis-sold as it was explicitly stated by the salesperson in-branch that the associated credit would not be available to me without PPI. Unless it can be wholly justified that the policy was fair and required for the provision of credit, I am requesting a full refund of all the premiums that were paid and subsequent interest to date. The expected level of interest is statutory, the amount that would be awarded by a court, which is currently 8% simple per annum.

Enclosed are copies of the original credit agreements provided to me in branch at St Anne's Square, Manchester on 12 May 2009.

I look forward to a full and prompt response to this letter and for the matter to be concluded within 8 weeks. Should this period lapse without satisfactory resolution, I shall be contacting the Financial Ombudsman with the details of my complaint.

    :T:T:T:T Great letter well done.;)

Good luck with this, and remember as well if they do not get back at all by 8 weeks, you can take to the FOS.

And if they do respond but do not resolve in your favour, they normally give you the opportunity to write back to them with further information, and the final decision should let you know when your entitled to move this on to the FOS, with the details, but with a bit of luck, they will sort it for you, fingers crossed.

Just been offered money by lloydstsb on a loan already paid off would like to know as i am on a debt management plan and I owe them money can they take this off what we owe them on overdraft and another loan where I am paying reduced payments

    Hi,

Any money they refund would go straight towards anything you owe them. If it pays off the full amount then they still don't have to refund the excess money to yourself if you have other debts they know about (which they will if you're on a DMP, like myself), they are actually entitled to divide the money between your other creditors. It's really annoying & not all the banks do this but they are allowed to unfortunately.

RBS have been making offers of £750 to fob people off and stop them going to the FOS.
I had to go to RBS to sort out my Tesco Loan they tried to fob me off so I went to the FOS and won. I received over £2200.

    Hi Shelly

Yes you can reclaim on both, I would though post on the Reclaiming Credit card charges if you've not done so yet and keep it separate to the PPI side of things and of course here your in the right place for reclaiming PPI.

To post and for help on reclaiming charges, here's the link here:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.html?f=102

And if you require any help with the PPI and you were mis sold this product, give it a go, with more info on this link here:

Ask for help on the PPi if needed, good luck.;)

    Hi hun, hope your well.

I know its frustrating on waiting for news on your case, well hopefully they should get this out to you by the deadline date of 8 weeks or sooner with some good news fingers crossed.;)

Basically I think as soon as your case has been passed on, you could actually call them to find out the name of the person dealing with this for you, do this next week as they did confirm it would be next week.
They will look into all the facts and investigate from when this was sold to you, if this was arranged on the telephone they should be able to track this down as well for you, if the sale was past 14 Jan 2005 and onwards.

You could however, write to them and ask for the telephone recordings if it was sold this way, this would be useful.

Hopefully the result will be a good one, but please do not worry if it is not at this stage, because another letter can be sent as a normal procedure, then the final letter, should give you details of the financial ombudsman service (FOS), you can go to these if your not satisfied with the outcome of your complaint.

Keep your chin up hun, all will work out in the end.;) Fingers crossed X

    Di
I did not want to build Linda's hope up,but when I rang RBS about my Tesco claim I was told that it was put on a spreadsheet and they used this to pay out to people as they work through it.
I also rang the FOS yesterday and they told me that these companies had to sort out these claims and stop having them sent to the FOS as they were getting too many complaints.
Let's hope the big dog is right when he say's A&L are paying out within 7 weeks.

    I will keep you informed

Hope you all have a good day

It's about time they stepped in to help us.

The annoying thing about this ppi and bank charges reclaiming is do the government not understand that by paying back this money it will get people spending and help the economy.
