I emailed the adjudicator again today to see what is happening with my claim and I got the reply below:

I have just been and spoken to our Final Decision team, they have advised that there are some technical issues regarding the general sales process which we are trying to resolved with Loans.co.uk at the moment.
Unfortunately, I cannot give you a definitive date for this to be resolved by as this all depends on Loans.co.uk at this present time. I can assure you that we are doing everything we possibly can to resolve this as quickly as possible for consumers.
If you would like I can diarise to email you every two weeks to give you an update on any progress we have made with Loans.co.uk?
Please accept my apologies for the continuing delay and I would like to thank you for your continued patience.
    Kind regards

What does this mean? what are technical Difficulties? Why does this affect my claim, surely whether or not there is a technical difficulty with loans.co.uk doesn't make any difference to how they sold me my PPI? if any-one can please? to me it seems like another excuse to stall things.

    Please Help!!!

    Hi all,

Hope every-one is well and also hope that your struggles to re-cliam your PPI are reaching the end... And hope you all get your money back very soon.

No news as yet re: loans.co.uk they must still be stalling... Hope that FOS make them pay more for making people wiat longer...

Any-one heard from EllBee wondered if she was having any luck tried to look through posts but not seen any from her for a while.

Any-way take care all... good luck with your claims:smileyhea:kisses3::smileyhea:kisses3:

Really fed up and bored with this all now. I posted on here about 3 months ago that When FOS started investigating one of my cases against Egg that Egg said that they would settle up as a good will gesture. I was told that they would work out the payment and contact me within 12 weeks. That was up a couple of weeks ago and still nothing yet. The other case against Egg was upheld by FOS who wrote to Egg. Egg have basically ignored FOS and not replied. Got a call from FOS last week who said that they have to give the case to the Ombudsman to make a ruling. They weren't able to say how long that whole process takes..does any one know and has anybody had a similar experience where the bank refuses to reply to the FOS. I didn't think that were allowed to!!!!

I have had similar with loans.co.uk they have not answered FOS Adjudicator ruling now gone for final dicission to Ombudsman which is now held up through some technical problems in the general way that loans.co.uk sell there loans how that affects how they sold me PPI 5 years ago I have no idea but till it is resolved my claim will not progress and could be months...

if egg don't respond within the time frame set by the ombudsman, he / she will rule in your favour and make them pay out -a final ruling by an ombudsman, if agreed by you the claimaint is legally binding upon egg

Is there a set timeframe do you know or is it just what ever the Ombudsman sees fit at the time?
  • Hi Guys,

I'm completely new to all of this money stuff and it is quite daunting it must be said.

Going to be quick here, I'm 20 years old and I bought a car on a HPI agreement back in July 2007 on a 4 year basis, with PPI on the loan.

I'm hopefully going to settle the finance early in the next 2-3 months but I have noticed a lot of stuff recently regarding the PPI situation with banks.

Usually I would plough head first into this but I don't know what to do! Should I cancel the policy and then initiate my claim back, or should I do it with the policy still running?

Also, I can't remember exactly what was said to me. I remember the saleswoman hounding me for it and she made it sound as if I really wanted it and I really should have had it, so I bought it. My arguement here is I'm 20 years old and in a stable job?!

So to summarise... how do I go about kicking the claim back off? And can I do it? Help me guys!

    Thanks
  • Hi all, looking for a bit of advice.

took a loan out a couple of years ago, but due to circumstances, i defaulted on it and its now ended up with IQOR dca. the balance is £5100. the interest and (i think) PPI was all front loaded onto the loan. Can I claim the PPI back and if so do I write to Halifax (loan provider) or IQOR.

    Thanks in advance guys..:confused::confused:

    Hi there

If you still have the policy terms and conds onhand then read through them, this should give you information on cancelling the PPI, I believe you are able to cancel anytime with this, FSA rulings etc, but as the cooling period has passed it may be that although your repayments will be reduced it may not be by much, but like I said I would check this through, as its no point in paying for anything that is worthless to you, but if this finance is still active try to make sure you do have adequate cover to protect your payments, you can check out stand alone protection, which as stated on this site can be 70% cheaper than that of the providers, but check on the T&C's first as every company vary from one to another.

Write your own reasons and they have 8 weeks to respond in full.

Another letter maybe required, or until they resolve your complain in your favour, or until you receive the final response, they should confirm the financial ombudsman service (FOS) details.
You can go this direction with the FOS if your not fully satisfied with the outcome of your complaint by the final decision.

Good luck and post all letters by recorded delivery.;)

    Hello there

As far as I am aware you still have rights to reclaim on what you have been mis sold, no matter if you defaulted or not.;)
You have obviously been out of pocket due to this, so give it a go.

You actually write to the ones who arranged the finance for you, as it was their responsibility when they sold this to you.

They have 8 weeks to respond in full.
Keep at them until you receive either a reasonable offer, or all your money back, if they do not resolve this by the final decision, you should be eligible to take this to the financial ombudsman service (FOS), they should give you details of this on the final response.

Post by recorded delivery and good luck, please ask for help when required.;)
