I also have a Citifinancial loan, not showing as a default on my experian credit file, but i havent paid anything onto this for about 2 years. Not sure what to do with this one because i know i was missold PPI on this loan, but they havent even contacted me about repayments, so unsure whether to rock the boat by claiming????:confused:

I'm hoping somebody may have been in the same situation as myself and be able to put my mind at rest.

I was at first rejected when claiming my PPI on my loans from LTSB.

I had four loans with this bank and out of those 3 had PPI. My argument was regarding their pushy sales techniques in branch. To back me up it shows that the fourth and final loan with them was the only out of the four without PPI and the only one taken out online and not in the branch under their pressure.

Anyway, the FOS agreed to help me out and 1 month ago sent me the good news to state that LTSB have agreed to settle all my premiums plus compensation plus 8% interest. There were none of the 3 account numbers quoted within this letter from he FOS. Just a slip I needed to sign to agree to Lloyds offer and to send back to them.

I am now waiting for the payment ( which the value has still not been put in writing ) but I am now worried that I have signed a slip which did not state any account numbers as 2 out of the 3 loans are just over 6 years old so I am worrying that they will only pay out on one of them and they may not back down as I have signed the agreement to accept their offer.

Does anybody out there think I am probably looking at the loan within the 6 years or maybe all three ?

    Hi there.;)

Hmm i do see your point here.

Do you know how much there is in total left to pay?

Just a thought but if successful in reclaiming, it may pay off the finance, depending on how much is left on the balance, and how much the PPI was, they may argue that if you have not paid anything into this for 2 years they may say you cannot complain, but still if you have had this loan for a few years surprising how much you may had already paid into this.

Its a tricky one, and then even if you do nothing, they may sort of try to contact you in due course.
Wonder if it will be worth you talking to your local CAB about this matter, if they say to go ahead, come back on here and we can help you through all this.

Someone else on here may have some ideas on this for you, good luck.;)

    Hi there

Have you raised this question to the FOS who have been dealing with this for you.
They should I imagine hold all the information on your complaint and from Lloyds TSB.

When my hubby needed to find out more information, he contacted the adjudicator who was dealing with his case for him and resolved this, so personally I think it would be best to contact your adjudicator on this matter.;) They should get back with an explanation on how all this was worked out.
    Good luck.

    Hi there

If you still have the policy terms and conds onhand then read through them, this should give you information on cancelling the PPI, I believe you are able to cancel anytime with this, FSA rulings etc, but as the cooling period has passed it may be that although your repayments will be reduced it may not be by much, but like I said I would check this through, as its no point in paying for anything that is worthless to you, but if this finance is still active try to make sure you do have adequate cover to protect your payments, you can check out stand alone protection, which as stated on this site can be 70% cheaper than that of the providers, but check on the T&C's first as every company vary from one to another.

In regards of reclaiming on the ppi, link here with guidelines and templates:
    <link removed>
Write your own reasons and they have 8 weeks to respond in full.

Another letter maybe required, or until they resolve your complain in your favour, or until you receive the final response, they should confirm the financial ombudsman service (FOS) details.
You can go this direction with the FOS if your not fully satisfied with the outcome of your complaint by the final decision.

Good luck and post all letters by recorded delivery.;)

    Hi Di,

I have the T&C's to hand and I can cancel if I so wish by writing to them, I can organise stand alone cover in the mean time this isn't an issue.

The form I have written out and it is nearly ready to go, but before I do it I just want to make sure that it is feasible.

Should I leave the PPI running while I put this claim in, or should I cancel it while sending this letter, or cancel it BEFORE sending it?!

    Cheers

Its the same one that most use but of course you need to tweak it to your own and own reasons for misselling. If you actually send the template in the same words it can sometimes hinder your complaint as its not actually all relevent to your claim. I would always do your own words if you can.

When i received my SAR from a company they had actually written on my file that the letter was a template for my PPI complaint.

    Hi Steve

Maybe you could cancel this in a separate letter.;)
Does not matter if you send in the same envelope, but keep it separate so you know where you are and ask them to confirm they have done this in writing for as soon as possible, good luck.

Hi I think that you can speed up the process if yo have suffered financial hardship, but the hardship has to be seen as a direct consiquence of the mis-selling of the PPI. But it is worth writing to FOS they may take your cirumstances into concideration and you are not losing any-thing by asking and it may speed up the process:j:j
I have 2 PPI claims all being dealt with by FOS could do with a win. I also have 1 PPI claim with FSCS because company gone bankrupt.
I have claim for bank charges on-hold for 3year

    Good-luck all
