Can anybody advice me if i can claim PPI on Car Finance?
I took one 2,8 years ago.....
Hi there
If you have reason to believe you were mis sold, there is no harm in giving it a go, even if it were 8 years ago, as some have still been successful in reclaiming back that far and earlier.;)
Check for more info and guidelines on reclaiming on the link here:

Check it out and if you want help just post up, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

I used the templates 1 & 2 and sent them off to Egg. They responded saying that they did not uphold my complaint and that I could take it to the FOS. I did.
This week the FOS adjudicator have sent me a copy of the letter they have sent to Egg requesting that they pay me my monies back. Plus interest and £200 for my stress, nearly £7,000. The letter is brilliant and includes loads of items I didn't actually complain about. It was 8 pages long! I was well impressed.
What usually happens next? Am I likely to see the money?
Also the adjuicator mentioned in my letter that I had PPI on my previous loans, which the final loan was a top up of and PPI was added on.
Does this mean that they had already charged me a single premium for the previous loans and then again for the final one? If so is this something I can get the adjudicator to look into and could I be entitled to more? I and Egg have 1 week to give him any further facts.
Can anyone help. I feel like I'm getting somewhere but not sure what will happen next.
Thanks
Hi there
Good luck with this.;)
Looks like your adjudicator received a lot of information back from EGG and went through the lot including the older cases, where the reasons were the same for what they believe you were mis sold on them as well.
They will give EGG about 2-3 weeks to get back to them on this, if you don't hear by 3 weeks contact your adjudicator for an update.
If you don't mind me asking, how long has your case been with the FOS?
Cheers.The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
HI, We have received a letter from RBS stating the bank is prepared to refund the insurance premiums that we have paid to date as a gesture of goodwill. This excludes the amount automatically credited to your loan account of £425.76 when the policy was cancelled. (don't understand why this amount). Also paying back amounts we have already paid for the payment protection element of our loan. In addition to the refund, as our ppi as been cancelled, the outstanding balance of the element of your loan relating to the ppi premium will be paid off as if it never existed. (does this mean that the amount owing on the ppi will be taken off outstanding balance?) No mention of the 8%. anyone any ideas why the £425.76 amount. thanks!!!!
Hello there
I would ask them to post you the "Full written breakdown of calculations" for this, so you can understand what is what and post them on here for someone to take a look if you want to, I don't understand when it comes to calculations sorry.
Good one though.:T:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi
The information that the adjudicator has been looking into is only for the most recent PPI, not any previous ones. Egg actually sent me a blank cd as proof of my sale, and when FOS requested it they haven't provded it, a very dodgy practice.
I started this whole process in Dec 08 and I think I sent the inital letter to the FOS in March 09.
I'm really hoping that I see some money at the end of this.
Thanks for the support!0 -
If I were you I would ring the adjudicator and ask him/her if they are able to look at the other loans as well if they haven't already done so.
How were you mis sold? I am waiting for an adjudicator to make a decision on my complaint. Thanks.
Hi
I have emailed the adjudicator about my concerns over the previous PPI's.
I'll let you know his response.
Thanks for the support0 -

Hi everyone, a good few years ago(7) I applied for a £5,000.00 loan from Natwest to buy myself a new car.
Being only 18 I was made to take out the loan protection on it. Would I have a valid claim to get the money back as I never faulted on payment and settled the loan before the agreed settlement date0 -
My claim against Loans.co.uk went to the FOS last August. I had a letter from ajudicator saying that he up held my claim and was laons.co was given till the 14th May to reply but they didn't. I emailed the adjudicator who said that I should here more in the next month from the ombudsman... has any-one got to this stage and if the ombudsman agrees with adjudicator could you tell how long they usually give loans.co to pay back PPI etc? :smileyhea:kisses2::beer:
Hi
As you can see from above the Ajdudicator up-held my claim on 24th April. Loans.co.uk were given till the 14th May to reply to this and in true style they didn't. So then I emailed ajdudicator who said that if I had not heard any-thing within 2-4weeks to email again which I did. Only to find there there is now another backlog for the claim to now be passed to Ombudsman for final decission... so then I emailed again (a week ago) to ask how long the backlog was and how long approximately would I now have to wait for the final decission and guess what a week later and still no reply to my email so either I have very long wait and no-one wants to tell me the bad news or I have got on the ajdudicators nerves.
Do you think I should leave it or email again... I have already been waiting a year to get this far and think I am feeling very irritated and inpatientNo wonder companies are refusing to pay... they know that the FOS are dragging there feet
I have 2 PPI claims all being dealt with by FOS could do with a win. I also have 1 PPI claim with FSCS because company gone bankrupt.
I have claim for bank charges on-hold for 3year
Good-luck all

Hi,
I have 3 claims against Egg currently been judged by the adjudicator. I sent them in originally back in May08, and the adjudicator finally got passed them, and has now had them for 6 weeks.
Does anyone know how long it usually takes for the adjudicator to make a decision?
Many thanks
I had a letter from Adjudicator up-holding my claim 24th April. They gave company till 14th May to reply they didn't so I thought that was it I would get the money but no... it now has to go to the Ombudsman for final decission and apparently they have a backlog so now have to wiat again... Already been waiting a year so hope you have better luck than me...I have 2 PPI claims all being dealt with by FOS could do with a win.
