Hey people, this is my 1st post and I hope someone will be able to help...
I took out a graduate loan with HSBC in 2001 and I have since had it 'reworked' a few times with different loan account numbers. Can I request for these old account numbers and go on to claim back PPI charged on them?0 -

Hi there
In order to reclaim you will require the loan account numbers so that they are aware of what loans ppi your reclaiming, so if you remember how many loans you had, you have to enclose a £1 for each request on a copy of the CCA (copy of the agreement), payable in postal order or cheque payment, and they have 12 days to post this to you.
Give as many details as possible, such as addresses if different at the time, surnames etc and also write your date of birth.
You may also come across loan account numbers on bank statements, if you bank online this should allow you to go back 6 years to check, and you should find the account numbers next to the repayments you made each month.
In regards of PPI reclaiming, link here:

The link above will give you all the information and templates you require for reclaiming PPI, they have 8 weeks to respond.
Post by recorded delivery.
Another way though for even more information if the loans were from the same bank etc, you could request a Subject Access request (SAR) they have 40 days to comply, but there is a charge of £10 cheque or postal order payment for this request, this should cover ALL your information if with the same bank.
Even though when requesting CCA's or SAR they only tend to go back as far as 6 years, but you should receive something back in relation to the loans.

My friend received a letter from A and L yesterday saying that they would investigate her complaint, and they hope to be able to find a solution that she is happy with.
I have told her that this is a standard letter and not to build her hopes up.
As we all know this can be a long and frustrating road, but I have told her we are all here to help her.
There is nothing worse than having your hopes built up, just to have someone knock them down again.0 -

Thinking about A and L my first one went to the FOS but A and L settled before it was taken on my FOS. Internal audit was the reason.:mad:0 -

I have told my friend not to build her hopes up as she may have to go to the FOS, but we should get there in the end0 -

They paid within the month and paid the interest as culmulative interest rather than simple.

This is the link where I put it all down. I obviously do not know how your friend was miss sold but when I first wrote to A and L I got the usual frosty fob off letter saying no and final response all in one letter.
Hopefully they will settle this quickly for your friend.:mad:0 -
