In January I contacted A&L for a settlement figure on my loan and discovered that I was paying PPI which I knew I had refused at the time. I wrote to A&L asking them to investigate this and they replied making me a settlement offer which I accepted. I was clear that I wanted to use the refund of PPI plus funding of my own to repay the loan in full but was told that they had to set me up a new loan, send me the refund of the PPI and that providing I repaid the loan before the 1st payment was due there would be no interest charge-simple! The new loan papers came out by return of post but we are now in May and still no sign of the PPI repayment... I need the refund (nearly £1000) to be able to pay the loan off but clearly now I have had to make repayments so interest charges on the loan apply. I have contacted A&L on numerous occasions but just go round and round with each department blaming the other. The only written communication I have had since I accepted their settlement figure, is a series of letters saying that I may have been mis-sold PPI and would I like to make a claim. Is there a time limit for them to make the repayment within or could this drag on for years. Had I know it was going to take this long I wouldn't have accepted their offer because I did that on the understanding that I would pay the loan off immediately and not be paying interest for how ever long it takes to sort out ...I feel really cheated by them once again.
it seems to me they are being very underhanded here. was it just a settlement figure? i would get in touch with them and threaten them with fos, and you want the loan redoing again when you recieve the money they owe you, can i ask why you didnt go for mis sell?( if thats not too cheeky)

Was wondering if someone could help me please.

My OH has a loan with Welcome Finance and has been missold the PPI. A few months ago one of these 'we will deal with your claim for you' companies came out and he agreed to pay them the monthly amount he would have been paying to WF for their services.

I presume that his account with WF has been frozen which is why the others can request he pay them instead. If I were to check all of his T&C's and it were possible to cancel this reclaim company, are we entitled to any excess that has been paid and are we entitled to a copy of any work and responses which they have received on his behalf? From this I can then continue the case.

    or,

Would it just be simpler to cancel the reclaim company and start the process from scratch?

I am already dealing with his bank charges case and am sure I could deal with this, (have read the WF and Reclaim PPI threads). Let's not even mention the amount of work I've done for his CSA complaint case and prep for his divorce - am thinking of having M.U.G tattooed on my forehead, either that or my diamond best be bigger than the rock of Gib!!

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi there

Just so I have this right, do you mean a claims company?

I am not sure on how this works out, but have you signed anything with this company? and check if charges will apply if you did cancel.

If you can cancel without penalties etc, you can reclaim this free of charge with help and templates from the site on here, but check first with the company, if you have any signed paperwork with them, and terms and conds, check them out.
    Good luck.;)

  • Hey everyone how are you all?

I got a letter back today from FP with copies of the Loan Agreements which both say loans.co.uk. I am at a loss?

What do I do now? Pursue Loans.co.uk or FSO? I know I got the address to write to the last time from here but I cannot find it - does anyone have the address where I can write to them? Also are they now part of another company as when I google them I get something totally strange?
    HELLLP:confused:

    Hi hun

So this was sold to you by loans.co.uk then?

Your right, you will need to write to these to start of the complaint procedures, address I found is here:

    Name & Registered Office:
    LOANS.CO.UK LIMITED
    STANSFIELD HOUSE
    CHESTER BUSINESS PARK
    CHESTER
    CH2 9QQ
    Company No. 03391635

Found this on "Companies house" company search, should be the correct one, note the company number on your paperwork, should be the same as what it states on the above address.

    PPI templates here:

If you need any help with the reclaiming hun, please let us know, good luck.;)

  •:mad:I also read they were heavily fined recently for mis-selling PPI to customers so fingers crossed if I get this back it will be nearly £15k which will wipe out one of my secured loans if I get the charges back on that with WF who are being a nitemare.

Also sent the forms back to FSO re Black Horse havent heard anything else from the FOS.

Have a meeting at work 2m and meant to be doing a presentation on the QLTR and Legal Rights done the 2nd one but the notes I done on the QLTR dont make any sense and my heads buzzing with upstairs neighbours making a racket by banging about like they are on a trampolene?:mad:
Also just had my wee boy come thru crying saying he cany sleep for the noisy man upstairs bless him - he is only 4 and gets his photos taken at nursery 2m my wee boy is all growd up :D:eek:
