I got a letter back from the FOS and it said that, they agreed with me in the fact that I am in the Armed Forces and my wages are secure.

To that end I got a letter off Lloysds TSB which told me that although it maintains its original view, it has agreed to settle my complaint on what it describes as a "Goodwill basis" not only that but they will also pay me £200 compensation for any distress and inconvenience it may have caused.

I got the letter from the FOS dated 11/03/09. It stated in the letter from the FOS that Lloyds TSB said it may take up 12 weeks from the date it receives my acceptance, which I signed straight away!!!

The next letter I got from the FOS was dated 26/03/09 which said it had completed it's formal involvement with my complaint .

Is it wise for me to write a letter of complaint to Lloyds TSB demanding they pay back the money the owe me quicker than 12 weeks, the reason I say this is because the money which I'm owed, they are earning money with the intrest ?????

    Regards Andy750

    Hi there

If this is being dealt with by the FOS, I would leave this for them to solve this.
I think the adjudicator gives them a certain timescale, and if you do not hear by that particular date, is to let the adjudicator know.
They then contact them on your behalf.

You could consider a LBA which is a letter before action, but always discuss this with the adjudicator dealing with your complaint first, as they must agree with this.

Hope I have this right, as I take it, its being dealt with by the FOS.
    Good luck.;)

    Hi

I have written the letter for my friend and will take it in to work for her.

Do you think that she has a chance with winning against A and L because her card was taken out in 2000.

She is a really nice woman but is in financal difficulty at the moment as she lives on her own and is trying to work as many hours as she can to try to make ends meet. She is also trying to look after her elderly parents.

I would love to be able to help her.

    Hi Showergirl

I had one with A and L that I was claiming back although was from 2003 and won that claim before going to FOS. (This was on medical conditions) Worth giving it a go.

    Thanks Maxdp,

I hope I can win the money back for her. Do you think that the fact that they have been fined will go in her favour

I've just come off the phone from my mum and I've won back £4315.80 plus I get £200 compensation, plus £2068.18 of which is 8% intrest.:j:T:beer::money:Thanks Martin for the Template's. In total I've got back £6583.98 :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::j:beer:

However at the bottom of the letter It say's

Please not that as an intrest payment has been made ,this will constitute taxable income and any tax due on this should be dealt with between you and your local tax office:confused:

Any help with the above matter in red would be grateful

Does this mean I need to declare it or could I just put it into a High intrest ISA for a year?

    Andy

Well done on your win. I know when I won my claim I had to pay 20% tax on the interest but this was taken off my settlement figure

Do you know if it is possible to gain the money back off the tax man since it was Lloydstsb who were at fault, Why should I be penalised?

    Thanks Andy750

    Hi Andy

    Well done to you, Congratulations.
    :beer::T:beer:

I believe they may do this with all refunds, its just that we don't notice this, so wheras they take this off before the refund...........this is what I just think mind you, but to my knowledge the tax is deducted before sending you the refund.;)
