In respect of the TWO car agreements. YES definatelty go for the reclaim. PPI is reclaimable.
The London Scottish however may be a little more complex. Yes you can certainly claim back the PPI still but you need to go the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. Have a look at their website which has actually got an article on London Scottish : -
Good luck.
Thank you for your help ill let you know how i get on. With regards to the car loan ons can i claaim the Gap Insurance as well as I was pushed into getting that too.0 -

Gumbi here.....As most of you know I have been dealing with a helpful guy at the FSCS for about 6 months now with regards to Picture and this is the current state of play:
Still showing as Pending Default which means that the legal dept of the FSCS is still doing their thing. I have been told that this process shouldn't take much longer, (it was about 6-8 weeks 3 weeks ago) and both myself and my MP,(James Arbothnut in case you're interested) have been in touch with the Chief Exec of the FSCS to complain about the lack on information available to those like us that have been waiting for months on end!
It's been a long haul but the finish, or should I say the end of the beginning, is now in sight and the FSCS will very soon be able to begin assessing cases for Single premium PPI mis-selling...
There is nothing left to do but wait for the FSCS Legal dept to crack on.....and let's face everybody on this site knows a hell of a lot about waiting!!
Thank you Gumbi, my hero or heroine:DDS1 12/10/04

Thanks Gumbi for the information in respect of Picture. I am sure you will keep us upto date, as will I if I hear anything. Your help is very much appreciated. Lets hope the waiting is not too long now.;)0

I am currently trying to reclaim my PPI, which was mis-sold to me, back in 2000.
I borrowed £25000 (for 120 months) from Wimslow Financial Services (now Freedom Finance) and they insisted on me taking the PPI of £5000 on top.
I told them I didn't need one, as I was in a secure job (I still work there) and the loan was secured on my property anyway, but they dismissed me completely and to calm me down, said, that I will be able to re-claim the full amount in 5 years time.
The loan was provided by First Plus.
After three years I have had enough and after parting with some £16000 already, I paid the loan off on 30th May 2003 (£25088). Unfortunately, as I didn't complete the full 5 years of PPI insurance premiums, I wasn't allowed to claim any money back.
Considering, that I was forced to buy this policy, I always felt robbed of more than £3000. Disgusting. Incidentally, I kept all correspondence and documentation regarding this fiasco. Not only that, I have a very good memory too. Also, I have a lot of resentment for these people, who clearly cheated me out of my money.
Having seen an advert on TV the other day, I decided to put up the fight about re-claiming the money.
I wrote to First Plus and they wrote back saying, that they transferred the matter to Freedom Finance, who sold me the PPI. Today, I received a letter from Freedom Finance saying that they dealt with this loan on behalf of Bespoke Finance in Gibraltar (formerly Karacus) and they transferred the matter to them. There is no mention of this company in any of the paperwork.
Is this a joke?
It was clearly Wilmslow Financial Services (Freedom Finance) staff (I can quote the name), who mis-sold me the PPI and the Insurance Cert. is from First Plus, so why on earth calling on Bespoke? I think, this is just wasting time tactics.
Please, can anyone make any sense out of this?
Please, can anyone help?
I will be most grateful.
Many thanks

Good luck and please keep checking posts in-case anyone posts up in regards of this company, but do not give up.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Dont suppose you know the likely outcome of Picture been in default?
Does it mean reduced payments? Return of monies paid in etc etc??
 ASHMAM
They may use any refund due to reduce any arrears, they might not but just so you are aware it could happen.
If they did do this then in a way this could benefit you because you would pay less interest and get less charges on the account.0 -

As I see it Freedom Finance were in fact processing the loan etc for Bespoke so they are telling you that they will not take responsibility for the sale of the loan etc or PPI.
You need to make Freedom responsible for the sale of the PPI and also find out when they were under the GISC as you still would not be able to take this complaint to the FOS and would have to use the courts if they were not members at the time of your sale.
If you look at the Firstplus complaints website then I am sure someone there would advise you better. It would be a very long and drawn out battle to get Freedom or Bespoke to pay up on this one. It all depends how determined you are and how much energy you have.
I know this is not much help but like I say you would have not options other than to use the courts if your sale commenced before Freedom were GISC members and then it would be getting Freedom to TAKE responsibilty too as Bespoke will tell you they sold it. Bespoke were not regulated at the time either and had no need to be hidden away in GIB. Its a bummer really but post back if you need any help in going it alone. I will do what I can.0 -
