  • Hi
Got a letter today from Cardiff Pinnacle saying that my Loan Insurance policy with them has just ended.
This is 5 years into a 10 year loan with GE Money.
Which was sold to me by an Anglian Windows salesman.
A single premium policy, on checking.
Which of these three companies should I contact first, to complain that the insurance was mis-sold?
    Thanks
    Michael

    Hi there

When they say its ended, does that mean you have used up the 12 months of claiming?

I think with these before it kicks in again its either 3 or 12 months, will have to check the policy we have.

In regards of who to write to, you write to the ones who sold you this product, so in your case the salesman, however, you could send a copy of the other letter to Pinnacle if you want to.

Reclaiming templates and info here below, follow the reclaiming process on there, add your own reasons in the letter of how you were mis sold:

Good luck and for further help, please just post up to ask.;)

Dont know if this helps anyone else out there ? Esp those dealing with Picture !!!
(And feel free to move this post to a more valid area thread if required.)

Have just got off the phone to the FSCS and the operator there confirmed to me that at present they are completely inundated with requests at present and at the moment they are looking at 15 working days just to send acknowledge and action a request for sending out necessary claim forms.

Hey ho they may well get to my email in a weeks time that I sent nearly 2 weeks ago.
If you see a penny, pick it up, all day long you'll have good luck !!!!!! :D

My hubby is reclaiming PPI on a credit card from RBS. First letter was ignored. Asked for a true copy of original agreement and received an unsigned, unticked bundle of paperwork? so I drafted and he signed a more original letter, with a more professional tone asking for his money back. They have acknowledged this letter and gave the standard 8 weeks to investigate response,.This was followed by the "can we have a couple more weeks to respond but promise to by May 7Th" letter and now today we have received the" sorry for the delay "letter, "your complaint is being investigated and we will get make to you when we have a full response." I realise they are probably inundated with claim letters but I can't help thinking they are trying fobbing us off. Checked with the FOS and agreed with them that it may be better to wait for RBS to give their final response before taking it any further ( ie letting FOS lose)but do you think it is worth sending another letter to give them a little nudge....something along the lines of how disappointed we are by their slow pace and how we have discussed with FOS about taking it further if we don't get the correct response soon!!!?

    Hope you hear soon.

However as you have already contacted the FOS who suggested to wait for a final response, you could write to them and give them your own timescale if the 8 weeks have passed, and tell them you believe they have had ample time to resolve your matter and if I do not hear by XX/XX/XXXX (a date you chosen), then you will move on to the FOS.

There is no harm done in sending a letter to give that little nudge, good luck and hope when they do respond - its a good outcome, please let us know.;)

    Cheers.

    Hi there

They may be stalling this, its them that should be checking what they have on their database of any recordings/discussions etc, they should hold all these details, I would let them know that.

You could actually request a SAR (Subject Access Request), and they should supply you with everything requested within the SAR by 40 days, but there is a charge of £10 cheque or postal order payment for this request.
    SAR template here:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1475553

How long have the given you to supply this info?

If not long then you can always try to FOS with any evidence from the SAR to support your case, keep on at them, keep us posted, good luck.;)

    Thanks for your reply.

What happens if they don't have any proof of the discussion of our meeting when I was sold the PPI?

    Regards

Gumbi here.....As most of you know I have been dealing with a helpful guy at the FSCS for about 6 months now with regards to Picture and this is the current state of play:

Still showing as Pending Default which means that the legal dept of the FSCS is still doing their thing. I have been told that this process shouldn't take much longer, (it was about 6-8 weeks 3 weeks ago) and both myself and my MP,(James Arbothnut in case you're interested) have been in touch with the Chief Exec of the FSCS to complain about the lack on information available to those like us that have been waiting for months on end!

It's been a long haul but the finish, or should I say the end of the beginning, is now in sight and the FSCS will very soon be able to begin assessing cases for Single premium PPI mis-selling...

There is nothing left to do but wait for the FSCS Legal dept to crack on.....and let's face everybody on this site knows a hell of a lot about waiting!!

    ;)

I am currently trying to reclaim my PPI, which was mis-sold to me, back in 2000.
I borrowed £25000 (for 120 months) from Wimslow Financial Services (now Freedom Finance) and they insisted on me taking the PPI of £5000 on top.
I told them I didn't need one, as I was in a secure job (I still work there) and the loan was secured on my property anyway, but they dismissed me completely and to calm me down, said, that I will be able to re-claim the full amount in 5 years time.
The loan was provided by First Plus.
After three years I have had enough and after parting with some £16000 already, I paid the loan off on 30th May 2003 (£25088). Unfortunately, as I didn't complete the full 5 years of PPI insurance premiums, I wasn't allowed to claim any money back.
Considering, that I was forced to buy this policy, I always felt robbed of more than £3000. Disgusting. Incidentally, I kept all correspondence and documentation regarding this fiasco. Not only that, I have a very good memory too. Also, I have a lot of resentment for these people, who clearly cheated me out of my money.

Having seen an advert on TV the other day, I decided to put up the fight about re-claiming the money.
I wrote to First Plus and they wrote back saying, that they transferred the matter to Freedom Finance, who sold me the PPI. Today, I received a letter from Freedom Finance saying that they dealt with this loan on behalf of Bespoke Finance in Gibraltar (formerly Karacus) and they transferred the matter to them. There is no mention of this company in any of the paperwork.
    Is this a joke?
It was clearly Wilmslow Financial Services (Freedom Finance) staff (I can quote the name), who mis-sold me the PPI and the Insurance Cert. is from First Plus, so why on earth calling on Bespoke? I think, this is just wasting time tactics.
Please, can anyone make any sense out of this?
    Please, can anyone help?
    I will be most grateful.

    Many thanks
