I dealt only with First Plus. When I complained sooo long ago directly to First Plus, they said they only brokered the PPI and our complaint should be with Central Trust PLC, i'd never heard of Central Trust.
And while you try to tackle them youself they will continue to bulls**it and bluff you and hope you will go away. I take it you have a copy of an agreement with First Plus on the top of it?I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.
However, I have since seen the light.0 -
Is there anyone out there who has had dealings with MBNA and missold PPI insurance on a loan. I applied for a £4k loan back in Sep 06 and when I signed the agreement for the loan I did not sign the PPI tick box but they still included this on my loan repayments ( I have a copy of the agreement with the unticked box) approx £1,800 - do I have a case for a refund ??0

I am really determined, but I have not got the time. The FOS threw out a complaint I had against The Halifax, I took it to my MP and eventually they paid me £200 compo. I guess my worst fears about the FOS are true. I will not let it lie with First Plus though...Never! Just how do you fit it all in after working, kids etc etc!0

Just take a look at the link here and see what you can add and delete from the template letter. Its always best to do your own from this. There are lots of reason on there for the misselling so pick out the ones that are applicable to yours.
You then write to the firm that actually made the sale of the PPI to you if this is different from the lender and don't forget to send this recorded delivery so you always a proof and dates etc.
After that you have to give them 8 weeks for a full and final response. In this time it is usual to get a response of "sorry we sold this to you fairly" but you then respond to this and reiterate your complaint again. The next time they write they either give you a final response which you would need in order to take this complaint to the FOS or offer to settle.

Marshallka, if you broke into a house and stole a faberge egg. You would be committing an illegal act, however unless someone takes action against you, then you are likely to keep that Faberge egg.0

I had the same with HFC, I have sent them the agreement with the unticked box and proof loan payments have had PPI added and a letter saying I was mis sold. I do not expect there to be a problem getting a refund, what more proof do I need:DDS1 12/10/04
DS2 13/07/06

Been saying this all along, but it looks like some are conditioned to believe the BS that the lenders and the FOS are feeding.
Which is odd to me as the lenders also believed that the customer needed the PPI and it was in there best interest to take it even if they were uneligible to claim against it.
The lenders also tell you that they did not mis-sell, despite the fact that some of these lenders were hit with massive fines for mis-selling..
When it comes to the Law, and the Lenders, I know who I will put my faith in.0 -

Steven, dont think of it as TIME, think of it as a second job that could have massive rewards at the end of it.
It takes less than 20 minutes to write a letter, and a couple of hours to write to the Ombudsmen.
Failing that just pass it over to a company that will do it all for you, except ensure that the company are willing to take it to court if need be. In a case such as this, you just have to put in about 5 hours work, the rest is up to them.
Believe me I have been round and round with FP, for no less than 4 years, and every letter just makes me more aware as to the tactics and fob-offs they use. I have elected this one to go all the way to the courts. If it does reach the courts then you can be sure it will be a packed court room. I will be sure to send you all an invite.
Firstplus lost a fortune in 2007, and the 2008 accounts wont be much better, they can ill afford to pay back customers so they use the resources available to ensure that they reduce the risk.0 -

Right the PPI letter want me to get my old employer to fill in details - I have spoken to said empoyer and they said that they would have to put on the form that I didnt complete my probationary period but I was a hard worked and agreed to pay me next 2 months - thus showing I wasnt made redundant and I wasnt sacked or anything
Do you think that they will pay out if I didnt complete my probation?
Hi there
This should not make any difference and you should still get paid for your insurance, many people don't complete their proabationary period, you have not done any against the law or anything wrong as such during employment, you just not reached the probabtion period.
I am sure all will be okay, remember to enclose a copy of that letter with the completed form, and the employer will have to fill out the first form, also the benefit office, after that the form (AB1) will have to be completed by the benefits office only then at once a month, they will tell you when.;)
Good luck and it should be fine. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
