Its been almost 8 weeks since I sent off my 1st letters. One to HFC and another to A&L, both have sent letters saying they are looking into it but nothing more, so do I send off 2nd letter now or wait it will be 8 weeks on Friday?
    Thanks all

    Hi there
You could continue with the FOS procedure if the 8 weeks have passed if you wanted to, and also send a copy to A&L, just write to them and tell them you enclose a copy of the complaints form for their records, they can still investigate this, is so while your complaint is within the FOS and successful - just let the FOS know, good luck.;)

That does seem odd, as 6 years have not passed.

I agree Incipience, its only coming on to 6 years now and I believed they should still hold the details.... .
An SAR is a good idea with this one.;)

Its not just hard getting your ppi back its hard to get the bleeding paperwork and calls off them.

I finally wrote a letter to EGG and MBNA and the insurer today done and dusted.

Told EGG its my last letter before action

    Hi,

I'm just wondering if anyone can advise me. I put in a claim to Alliance and Leicester to reclaim PPI eleven weeks ago. I had a response after 8 weeks to say they were still investigating and I could go to FOS if I wished. I sent them the 14 day letter but now, nearly three weeks later, I still haven't heard anything.

I wondering what my next move should be. I put in the claim before discovering this wonderful forum and so didn't do a SAR beforehand. Should I make a SAR now so that I have all the evidence to submit a strong case to the FOS?

    Hi

Its always a good idea to request a SAR, you will find the template I posted on page one of this thread, its an updated SAR which Incipience posted, this may come in handy for your complaint where some useful information maybe received to help your case.

If the 8 weeks have passed you should be entitled to take this to the financial ombudsman service now, and also enclose a copy of the completed form for the finance company where they may still take a look, and if you succeed in this you just then let the FOS know.;)

    Good luck

Oh got an email from the ICO too, they are raising my issues regarding a certain company taking more than 40days to release the SAR.

They also said that I have to write to the company and ask for an explanation for why the call recordings were not sent, then ICO will look into this if no satisfactory reply.

sorry to be dumb max but what is a LBA lol, i will take them to cout if i have to but didnt know whether to send copies of FO letters first, they paid all the PPI so whats there problem, lol, should i request SARs from them first before going FO or court xxx

    Hi there

A LBA is a (letter before action), I did used to have a template for this, but cannot find this.

If something has gone on too long and you have not heard for instance you can threaten then with further action.;)

    Hi dreamer

    How are you?

Glad you heard from them, how long ago was it you emailed them, I know they can take a good while before they get back.

So you have to send them the company a letter now then?
Tell them you want something by 14 days from your letter.:D ;) lol

    Hello Di

    Are you ok.

I felt today that I had done quite a bit with my letter sending, just waiting now for the replys.
