Hi People,
Im a little confused by this reclaiming guide, i get the general gist, i.e. that Loans, Car insurance companies etc may have miss sold me certain financial products but is it just for insurance?
Also if i want to reclaim for the last 6 years to companies for my car insurance for example, does that mean i can write to 6 years worth of insurers etc and continue onto credit cards and do 6 years for them etc,
If anyone could clear this up i would be very grateful aand sorry if i sound like a bit of a dummy,
Cheers.

Does anyone know any more details about the rumours welcome finance are in financial difficulty??? i have a claim with the FOS about ppi if i win they are going to owe me money. I have heard they struggling so im v worried i wont get my money back... anyone know anything more?
Cheers
Hiya,
Any news from FOS for yours yet?? Still none on mine, if they do go under and our cases are upheld then it would be passed to the financial compensation scheme. It would take a lot longer but hopefully we'll still get paid out in the end.

I just wanted to pre-warn people that there is a company cold calling to make appointments to visit your home to organise this recollection of PPI fee's for you. They are called "We claim you gain". I have checked with the Justice service and they are not authorised.
Up until this call today - I had no idea I could reclaim these (I am still shocked at how much I could possibly claim). I am just about to sit and use the template letters from this site..... slighty worried it will all be a little "heavy". But hey - for a few stamps it's worth a shot.
Do we know (roughly) how long it all takes? Am I right in thinking that PPI could apply to ALL my store cards, credit cards, secured and unsecured loans?
Keep you all posted0 -

Hi, great forum here!
I am stuck with a loan from HSBC I took out in 2005 which I pay £347 a month for. However the PPI is £83 of that and I really think it's not any use to me at all as I am in the Armed Services.
Basically I was told I needed to take the PPI to increase my chances of being accepted and that I would be 'stupid' not to. However I'm pretty sure if I lost my job (officer in the Royal Navy) they wouldn't cover me anyway because the only way I could lose my job is through a criminal or stupid act (or getting injured/killed obviously but I am covered for that elsewhere).
I asked on the phone and in the branch if I could stop paying the PPI but they said I couldn't because my credit rating was not strong enough to take a new loan out without it. So I'm stuck paying it. Damn I hate banks sometimes!
I would really appreciate it if anyone has seen anything like this before or if they think I have a case or not?
Again, love the forum. I'm new here and have spent literally hours reading all the different sections!0 -

Hi there and Welcome.;)
Like amersall says, it seems you have been mis sold here, so its a good case.
I would write to complain and reclaim, with your reasons, check this here as well for more info and template letters:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
You will find some useful info on PPI mis selling, and letter reclaim templates, but add your own reasons.
They have 8 weeks to respond in full, if you hear nothing at all, then go straight to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS), but its wise to post by recorded delivery to ensure they have received the letters, you can check the delivery on the Royal Mail Website on "track and trace".
However, if they do respond with a fob off reply and they have not resolved this, they should give you the opportunity to write back to them with further information, in the final response, they should give you details on how you can take this further, for example the Financial ombudsman service if eligible, (that's if your not satisfied with the final response).
Do you have the finance agreement for this still.
If not write to them in a separate letter, enclose a £1 cheque or postal order payment, they should send this out to you by 12 days of requesting this.
As long as you know you had PPI, its not essential to have this but it may help if it goes as far as the FOS.
Good luck and post up for further help if required.;)

Thanks for the amazingly quick responses!
I still have the agreement and everything so I'll go ahead and start the process. I'll let you know how I get on. I imagine it's going to be a long and difficult process as I'm dealing with HSBC!
Again, thanks for the replys!!! :beer:0 -
