I thought i come back and let everyone know whats happening.
if you go back to page 55 that will explain that i am reclaiming my wife's PPI from A&L.
i got intouch with FOS who was really helpful over the phone and got the letter of them in no time, sent it back and FOS saying they are really busy at the moment about the reclaiming PPI.
Got another letter from FOS saying that they contacted A&L and waiting for there reply overall it has been 8 weeks now.
just want to let the Ladies and Gentleman users on here who are going through FOS just be patience as they have recieved many complaints regarding the PPI.
Good luck to all.0 -

Of course, I will post again when I find out the amount and if it is acceptable. If it is not acceptable I will be writing to the Bank again!!
Well, I finally heard again from Bank of Scotland yesterday. They have calculated my redress and it should be paid to my loan account within the next 14 days. I will get just over £600 and I work that out to be about right. They also advised me of my new monthly payment of which they have taken the monthly PPI amount off.
I am reasonably happy with it all, I only wrote one letter and it has taken around two months for them to sort out. Just a pity they won't give me the money in my hand!

Hi there
And well done :beer::T:beer:.
Please remind me, were there any arrears - missed payments on this?
If not you should have had the choice of having this refunded directly to you, otherwise, yes this is how they do this.
Still it all helps and still a success :TXThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
No arrears and no missed payments. I am really carefull to meet all monetary commitments every month. I had big problems a few years ago and now, even although I still have debt, I have a reasonably good credit rating and I don't want to do anything to spoil that.
I am delighted that I made a complaint, it was investigated and I won! The money would only be spent on needs rather than wants anyway so it might as well go towards decreasing my loan. Only another £7,100 and 4 years to go!!!

Hi everyone,
I'm kinda stuck on what to do with my GE Money claim for ppi on my old store card, have sent them 3 letters now and had 2 returns saying 'ppi not mis-sold'
I have been trying to look into the route regards the FLA as GE not covered by FSA in 2002, cant seem to find much info on this and any i can find is saying that the FLA is usually unsuccessfull.
Anyone know of any success stories or any advice would be very helpful, thanks in advance.0 -

Hi hun
Shame they did not pay your directly, but I suppose its still a help to reduce your payment, I did think though you should have had the option meanings you had no missed payments - arrears that it would directly be paid to you.
All the best anyway.......:D;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi there
Its always the same, if they were not covered by these regulators, they send the automatic response that you were not mis sold.
You could try getting some advice from your local CAB, see if there is anyway they can help.
Like you said about the FLA, your right, but there has been some success as well, maybe not as much as there have not been.
You could still try contacting them, so you can let the CAB you have already tried taking that direction.
Its so damn annoying though isn't it ?
Hope this is resolved very soon. Fingers crossed.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Got a letter from Freedon Finance this morning saying that the letter I sent on 26th February they recieved on 8th April they are now dealing with my complaint and will write with a full response by 3rd June 2009 if the investigation is not completed by 3rd June they will write informing me that the invstigation is continuing and explain when they will expect to issue a final response.Because they had fobbed me of at the begining I told them that I wanted a response by 30/04/09 should I just wait until the 3rd and then take it further.
Thanks everyone for all the advice.:T0 -
Hi,
I claimed my PPI insurance back from nationwide and got a huge £2500 cheque through! was very impressed.. I had a little help though, my friend passed me onto a company that not also helped me do this but helped me get my Credit Card and Loan balance wiped clear, and claim compensation because the product was miss sold to me. If you want more information vist clientreview.org
They help all sorts of people in financial situations and claiming back balances on loans, credit cards, and car finance as there is a flaw in the contract, exactly the same as the bank charges. It worth looking into as I am now debt free, it worked for me.
Thanks0
