Im not sure either thats why I was asking. The endowment has a shortfall, but both the morgage and two endowments were taken out in 85 3 years before the 88 endowment regulations therefore I dont know if they have a claim, but I am going to print of the relevant documents for them to fill out.

Hello all,
My girlfriend and I took out a mortgage with Northern Rock in October 2006.
After the mortage was in place Northern Rock sold me a PPI policy (provided by Cardiff Pinnacle) The selling was done over the phone and, to be honest, I really didn't really think about it much at the time. £30-odd a month didn't seem like a lot to pay when compared to the £100k mortgage we'd just signed up to.
Anyway, I now believe I may have a case for reclaiming our PPI payments, for the following reasons:
A) The NR representative who sold me the PPI did not ask me about my employment status. (I was, and am, self employed)We never received any paperwork at all from either Northern Rock or Cardiff Pinnacle. (Note: I did recently receive the 'Schedule of Cover' and 'Policy Document' after contacting Cardiff Pinnacle).
I would appreciate your help with the following:
1) The NR representative didn't ask about my employment status. Is this sufficient, in itself, as a reason to claim the policy was mis-sold?
2) They never sent me any documentation. Is this a sufficient reason to claim the policy was mis-sold?
I look forward to hearing your thoughts about this, and I'll happily provide any other info that might be relevant.
Cheers for now.0 -
Hi everyone,
I'm kinda stuck on what to do with my GE Money claim for ppi on my old store card, have sent them 3 letters now and had 2 returns saying 'ppi not mis-sold'
I have been trying to look into the route regards the FLA as GE not covered by FSA in 2002, cant seem to find much info on this and any i can find is saying that the FLA is usually unsuccessfull.
Anyone know of any success stories or any advice would be very helpful, thanks in advance.
UPDATE : Just received 3rd letter from GE - Saying they require evidence to prove that i was not working a min of 16 hours a week as of when the ppi on my store card was sold to me - I obviously dont have any wage slips or anything like that as i was a full-time college student and not sure if the college will still hold records of me going back to 2002?
Any advice on what i could send them or just general advice would be v.much appreciated!?0 -
Hi all
I am currently in contact with Welcome finance with regard to a loan I took out in 2003. I sent the standard sample letter off and have received a reply requesting further info. At the time we took the ppi my husband was self employed.
1) Where and/or how did u take out the PPI policy?
answer - in branch
2) in your own words, please tell us the exact reason for your complaint.
3) What do you remember from the time you took out the policy?
4) What documentation were you given when you took the policy out?
(answer - i have no idea!! can't remember and i don;t have any of the paper work from the loan as it was settled the following year)
5) Please provide details about your job at the time you took out the policy and also details of any other PPI policies you have had in the past
(answer - my huby was a self employed taxi driver at the time, we held no other PPI policies)
6) is there any other info you wish to tell us about your complaint.
I want to get everything spot on so they cannot catch me out at all so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there
In my opinion as this was sold in 2006, they should have made sure on this policy first, and gone through the procedures of asking you questions, but as they did not going by what you said, I think you should try to reclaim on this.
They should have also sent you the documentation, as you may have had to refer to this at some point, if they do not supply this to you now on request, you can contact the ICO (information commissioners office) who will possibly look into this for you.
I would also take a look at this here for more info and you will also find templates for reclaiming, good luck and ask for help when required.;)

Hi there,
If you were awarded tax credits for that year, and do not have the award paperwork for this, contact the inland revenue, they should be able to supply you with something.
They are using this as a stalling tactic I think hun, any probs, get back to let us know, we can try to work something out ASAP.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi there
I take it this is one of the questionaires these finance companies seem to be sending to many.
Some do not complete this, they write back to tell them, they should still hold the information on the account from when they sold you the policy, so please refer to that.;)
Its entirely up to you, but its just another stalling tactic, and they must still deal with your case by 8 weeks. Hope this helps.
Good luck XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
