PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Hi,
I wrote to HSBC in February using the template letters on this site, regarding PPI on sevreal loans that had been re-jigged over time.
I had two letters back saying that they were investigating my complaint and that they would be intouch. The last letter indicated that they would have a response by 8th May.
I realised that the eight week period that I had given them took me up to todays date (15/4/09). With this in mind, I phoned them last Thursday and reminded them that their time was running out. The lady I spoke to was lovely and said that she would get someone to call me back the same day. An hour and a half later I was talking to a complaints officer who again apologised for their delay in replying but as a result of current global market conditions, they were experiencing an exceptionally high number of complaints...I bet they are!
She informed me that she had all my details in front of her and she promised that I would have a response in the post by the end of this week. :j
I'm not too sure what the outcome will be as I have read stories on here that indicate not everyone gets the response they are looking for. I only decided to persue my claim as my husband was successful in receiving 1,500.00 just before Christmas which helped out at a very expensive time of the year!
So fingers croseed, while I wait with baited breath to see if they are true to their word.
I will let you know if I am successful with my claim...or not!
Well done to your hubby:T:beer::T.
And fingers crossed with yours, hope you get a good outcome as well, good luck.;)XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi, I am new to this site. I have read it loads of times but never commented. Today I feel that I have to.
I recently sent a PPI reclaim letter to Northern Rock - thinking that
I had nothing to lose!!
About a week later they sent me a reply letter asking loads of questions as to why I thought the Policy was mi-sold etc etc. I didn't actually reply as I was about to go on holiday. However, on my return from holiday a week later, I had recieved another letter from NR. This one offered me a FULL refund & 8% interest. All I had to to do was send the letter back and I would recieve the payment. I did have to query some of their points but in the end I have won, and got a welcome £285 sitting in the bank.:D
Thanks to MSE for all the advice.0 -
i have checked that they have recieved it, sent recorded delivery.
I guess my next port of call is the F.O.S then,
thanx for the quick reply:beer:Hi there
The timescales they have is 8 full weeks, if you've heard absolutely nothing at all by that time, you can take your case to the Financial ombudsman service, ask if they can deal with this matter for you now.
Do you know for definate if Black Horse received your letter?
And did you post your letter by recorded delivery, to ensure the letter reached them, as you can also check this out on the royal mail website "tracking".
If not give them a quick call to ask, take if from there.
If they have not received this letter, its up to you if you want re-send it, but it will be 8 weeks they have again unfortunately, but if they did receive it and not dealt with it by 8 weeks, then take it to the FOS.;)X0 -

Hi hun and yes now that you know they received it, move this on to the FOS:

I would also be inclined to let the company know you have done this, maybe they will decide to get on with it, with a offer, all of it would be nice, good luck.;)XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi All!
Just a quick question regarding PPI on a Barclaycard.. I have had my Barclaycard for more than 6 years, but have no idea if PPi is added or not?
Is there a quick and simple way to check if this is the case or not?
Any help would be greatly appreciated..Thanks a lot:j
Ps: Still waiting for the FOS to give me an answer on multiple loans with PPI... Can't wait for their answer!0 -
Hi Guys
I'm popping my cherry on the forum, so be gentle with me.........
I applied for an unsecured loan with Northern Rock in October 2005 for £15,000 repayable over 120 months. I can't recall if I had to tick or untick the PPI box, however the 'Bronze' cover was included in the loan.
Cost of loan was £20,652.00 and PPI £1,957.20
I did however settle the loan in July 2006 and was quoted the following:
Total amount outstanding: £21,290.33
Less amount of insurable rebate: £1,225.58
Less amounf of interest rebate: £5,333.25
Settlement figure of £14,731.50
This was paid and forgotten about until the PPI scandal came to light. I have since successfully claimed PPI off Northern Rock for a later loan and decided to try my luck with this old loan.
I have had a reply to my inital letter saying 'You applied for the loan over the internet and no salesperson was involved', so get lost. Is it worth sending off the second letter, going straight to the FOS or am I just being a greedy pig?
Thanking you all in anticipation and keep up the good work!

The quickest way really is to contact them as a normal enquiry.;)
If beyond the 6 years, it may be difficult to retrieve all the info, but there is no harm in trying.
You can always request for a copy of the agreement, (hope for the best), enclose a £1 postal order or cheque payment, (which they should return to you if they are unable to find this), but if they do, they have 12 days to supply the agreement to you from request.
Good luck.;)XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi there
You have more than likely received a standard fob off response, many do if they applied through the internet, but you have your reasons, so yes write to them again until they give you the final response, if they do not resolve this by the final letter, you can always ask the FOS to investigate this for you.
Keep at them and good luck.;)XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
