Hi Guys

Hi weeang
Sorry to hear this.
They should still have all info on your account if this was taken out within the last 6 years, in England and Wales, five years for Scotland I believe, but you could always get in touch with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO), as them to help, they may get in touch with them for you, good luck.;)X

I am claiming back approx £7000 back through the Ombudsman from First Plus (I took a loan out in October 2005 for £33,000 and they banged £7000 on top for PPI insurance up front). I instructed Portal Claims to get this back for me as the First Plus loan was repaid in June 2007 when I remortgaged (apparently Capital One, my broker, on both the loan and the remortgage did not tell me at the time of taking out my loan that I would have to pay it back when I remortgaged so I feel they conned me into taking the loan with the PPI refunded back after 5 years as they new when my mortgage was up for renewal and there with remortgaging I wasnt entitled to getting my PPI back anyway). Portal claims have taken this to the Ombudsman as Capital One are saying that I knew about all the information when I took the loan out (what?? - the PPI is in my husbands name only and they have never even spoken to him and they never even asked about his medical condition of high blood pressure and daily medication for life!!). Does anyone else have a claim going against First Plus for this mis sold PPI?0

Hi weanng
I would contact the ICO to ask if they can help you if having problems with receiving any paperwork from the company, did oyu request a SAR?
And pay a payment for this request? They should supply everything to you with this request by 40 days.
And yes you can still reclaim on the PPI if the loan is settled, this way, you receive absolutely everything back you paid in PPI, plus interest and so, it should work out a little more than what you paid.;)XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi hun
There is a thread on here in regards of Welcome Finance, maybe the posters on that particular thread will confirm this to you.
Good luck.;)XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi Pixie
You will find the main of the posters have a complaint with FP in regards of being mis sold PPI, I'm sure the FOS will resolve this for you in your favour.
In fact I believe this is one company who has the highest volumes of these actual complaints.;)
Good luck, it should all sort out. XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

) Been pondering over FOS response for MBNA ppi reclaim from 2001 when they said they can't help it's too early, MBNA weren't covered.
I researched the net last night and most of today and I have found out about GISC, FLA, FSA, CIA, DFS, FBI and SAS :rotfl: ahem, sorrybut I really am getting puzzled
I cannot find anyone who has had the same reaction from the FOS over MBNA to read up on just lots of success stories. I know MBNA were covered by GISC so why can't the FOS help me?
The FOS are not open tomorrow (bank holiday) but I wanted to ask is there a way around this that I have totally missed? I have read up on people successfully reclaiming a good few years prior to 2005 and just don't know where to go from here. I read your thread about FLA and not many have faith in going to these.
Are the FLA and the FSA the same people? Shall I write one more letter to MBNA? Why would MBNA tell me to write to the FOS if they knew they weren't covered?
Am I being a total idiot here? Please answer truthfully
but I really just don't get it and thought the FOS would be able to help us
thanks xx
Panic over
I called FOS today and spoke to a lovely guy who told me to resubmit MBNA complaint :T It seems the account opening time (2001) flagged up something on the database and rather than investigating further, the person dealing with this just shipped the documents back to us with a standard covering letter.
He apologised and said that MBNA has been a problem due to the regulation times at that time and if a company had supplied credut cards and loans then it must have been regulated by somebody. He has made a note on the file and when the documents come through, the complaint will be investigated. :T
I was delightedI ran down to the Post Office and even sent it 'the special delivery guaranteed to get there' one. Oh I also included a complaint to Monument too
. It sure takes a bit of pressure from looking into those dodgy sites for ppi reclaiming.
MBNA watch out :cool:DMP support thread member 211 :cool:I'm only here to get some medals......honest!0
