    Hi Sam

Do you mean the SAR? Yes this one is 40 days, are you sure they received the letter request, by posting them by recorded delivery, and enclose the payment of £10 in cheque or postal order for this request?

I would check your bank account if sent a cheque to see if they have taken out that £10, if they have done this, you know they have received the request, you can always ring them quick, and tell them if they do not forward you the request by 5 days (for example), you will contact the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) who will look into this matter for you.
    Here:
    https://www.ico.gov.uk/Global/contact_us.aspx

If a PPI reclaim letter, that is 8 weeks they have to respond in full, if they have not responded at all, you can take this case to the financial ombudsman service.

Hope this helps, good luck, hope you hear something soon.;)X

  • Hi all

Ok i'm a newbie who needs some guidance!
Back on the 9/02/06 we took out a loan with FP for £27000 and the ppp at £6612.30 (total £33612)
Then on the 8/3/06 we upped it to £30000 and the ppp was £7347.00(total £37347) so to pay off the 9/02 was £26737.54..all ok.
But we then made the mistake of upping it on the 10/5/06 to £38000 and the ppp was £9306.20(total£47306.20) but to pay off the 8/03 cost us £29932.52!! which meant for 2 months we was charged £3194!!!??? (does that sound ok ??)
In the end we paid them back 14 months later £45000 to get rid off!(good ridance)

So anyway were starting to claim back....£900 from A and L(good!) , halifax said no chance(not good).

FP said No twice.....but have now said were offer you £3506 as a good will gesture!.I'm tempted to say yes but feel ripped off ever since i have started with them! any help on fp and what to do would be great. Thanks

    Hi there and welcome.;)

Sorry I am unable to work out calculations, but you can ask them to send you an explanation on how they worked this out, in a full written breakdown, you are entitled to see how they worked this out.

However, I know many on here would say, do not go for the offers, if there is a big difference in the amounts, then go for it all, even if the case goes to the FOS, okay it may take a while, but because there are so many complaints with this actual company, your all more or less in the same boat here, and I am aware many are battling on with them to get the whole lot from them.
The FOS know this company only too well.;)

    hi all

My first post in MSE so apologies if I'm in wrong place, format etc...my brothers took out loan with first plus 3 yrs ago and were desperate to consolidate and reduce debt. They did not query anything about PPI and following advice on this and other sites, we asked FP to send us all info they had. They had send my brothers a letter listing out all the checks to clear out various debts and at end of letter was PPI of 26k. Next page then says what total monthly repayments are going to be without breakdown of what is for what. But on other sheets which look like downloads from system there is a breakdown which my brothers don't remember being discussed with them. I know this is not much information but could anyone advice whether we should claim for PPI as it was not explained they would be paying interest on the PPI and how much that would increase the total loan.

thanks for taking time to read this

    Hi

We got all the paperwork from FP but they say they can't find and send us conversations with them unless we give them detailed information as to date and time they were rung....3 years ago!! Does anyone know if they can do this? My brother's recollection is not too good and I don't want to put in anything in claim letter they can refute as they "found" the conversations.

    Hi Guys
Quick update recieved two letters on Friday 10/04/09 from Freedom Finance one date 09/03/09 (which I never recieved) and one dated 08/04/09.Said they have no record of my loan I have to tell them how much it was for,who took it out,etc etc.Phoned GE Money this morning who gave me all the information when I took it how the original loan amount etc,and told me that Freedom Finance was my broker and that they added the PPI on the instructions from Freedom Finance.I have wrote back this morning telling them that I find all this unacceptable and that I still want a reply by 30/04/09 as that will be the 8 weeks up or I am taking it to fos.I am QUITE SHAKY and nervous have I done the right thing?
