    Panic over :D

I called FOS today and spoke to a lovely guy who told me to resubmit MBNA complaint :T It seems the account opening time (2001) flagged up something on the database and rather than investigating further, the person dealing with this just shipped the documents back to us with a standard covering letter.

He apologised and said that MBNA has been a problem due to the regulation times at that time and if a company had supplied credut cards and loans then it must have been regulated by somebody. He has made a note on the file and when the documents come through, the complaint will be investigated. :T

I was delighted :D I ran down to the Post Office and even sent it 'the special delivery guaranteed to get there' one. Oh I also included a complaint to Monument too ;). It sure takes a bit of pressure from looking into those dodgy sites for ppi reclaiming.

    MBNA watch out

    Hi all

Ok i'm a newbie who needs some guidance!
Back on the 9/02/06 we took out a loan with FP for £27000 and the ppp at £6612.30 (total £33612)
Then on the 8/3/06 we upped it to £30000 and the ppp was £7347.00(total £37347) so to pay off the 9/02 was £26737.54..all ok.
But we then made the mistake of upping it on the 10/5/06 to £38000 and the ppp was £9306.20(total£47306.20) but to pay off the 8/03 cost us £29932.52!! which meant for 2 months we was charged £3194!!!??? (does that sound ok ??)
In the end we paid them back 14 months later £45000 to get rid off!(good ridance)

So anyway were starting to claim back....£900 from A and L(good!) , halifax said no chance(not good).

FP said No twice.....but have now said were offer you £3506 as a good will gesture!.I'm tempted to say yes but feel ripped off ever since i have started with them! any help on fp and what to do would be great. Thanks
please please please dont accept the offer from first plus, if you felt you were mis sold then that would be a valid claim to go to fos, let fp know you are not accepting the offer and you are going to fos, they will do what they did with me and offer an enhanced rebate, dont accept this either then you go to fos you will get more back, in fact all the ppi you have made plus interest!1 turbo i think is working with the fos at the present time to work out the repayments on a loan such as yours, please dont let this company off you are not alone with this company, you go for it , as for the halifax let them know you are taking it to fos, good luck with this and please keep us posted,, go on this website, it is not a first plus website, it is disgruntled customers of fp firstpluscomplaints.co.uk

I am claiming back approx £7000 back through the Ombudsman from First Plus (I took a loan out in October 2005 for £33,000 and they banged £7000 on top for PPI insurance up front). I instructed Portal Claims to get this back for me as the First Plus loan was repaid in June 2007 when I remortgaged (apparently Capital One, my broker, on both the loan and the remortgage did not tell me at the time of taking out my loan that I would have to pay it back when I remortgaged so I feel they conned me into taking the loan with the PPI refunded back after 5 years as they new when my mortgage was up for renewal and there with remortgaging I wasnt entitled to getting my PPI back anyway). Portal claims have taken this to the Ombudsman as Capital One are saying that I knew about all the information when I took the loan out (what?? - the PPI is in my husbands name only and they have never even spoken to him and they never even asked about his medical condition of high blood pressure and daily medication for life!!). Does anyone else have a claim going against First Plus for this mis sold PPI?
just a few thousand people thats all!! you go for it and good luck

    Hi

We got all the paperwork from FP but they say they can't find and send us conversations with them unless we give them detailed information as to date and time they were rung....3 years ago!! Does anyone know if they can do this? My brother's recollection is not too good and I don't want to put in anything in claim letter they can refute as they "found" the conversations.
its not down to you to provide that, they should have it, this is just another stalling ploy, write back to them and say you cant remember, but you were certainly not told that this ppi was put on your loan as one lump sum and the amount of interest you would be paying, and that you will be going to fos, they have to prove that you were told about front loaded ppi and that it was to be paid back over the full loan term and the amount of interest you would pay in total,, trust me they will never find a conversation to this effect , because they did not tell anyone this because no one would have taken this ppi, please go for it and keep us posted dont go into detail with them, as they have to prove it, you only go into detail with the fos as i did, and then it was just enough to put the nail in fp coffin
