    Hi Guys,

I have had an offer from Captial One. It took the second letter to get the offer. However I am struggling to understand if the amount is correct. It is for a Credit Card with a balance of around £8,000. Should Captial One Refund all monies paid? The offer they have made is £1205.41. I can not remember how long I have had a the card for. It may be about 5 or 6 years.

    All help welcome.

    Many thanks

    John

Hi John and well done. :T

Is this account settled or still active?

If a closed and settled account they should refund you all you have paid in PPI as if you did not take the PPI from the start, so in other words put you back in the postion without this product, also interest they should pay you as well.

Ask them to send you a full written breadown on this and to post them to you as soon as possible, as you want to know what is what and how the worked this out.

Good luck John and any probs, let us know, good one.:T

I have had my 'receipt of complaint' letter from Natwest saying they have assigned a case worked etc and that they aim to complete most issues in 4 weeks but it can take upto 8 weeks.
From reading the posts here I suspect that if they offer anything it will be the past 6 years (I have had the CC since 1996) payment protection.
So now it is the waiting game..........

Good luck Stan, hope its the outcome your waiting for, fingers crossed.;)

Hi there John.....congratulations for (at least) getting something out of Cap One!!! :T

I sent the stage 1 letter to them on 23rd Feb and got standard fob off letter 14th March. I have since replied with a SAR asking them to supply me with every bit of info they have on my account, i.e. PPI payments to date, reorded telephone calls, etc, etc. They have cashed my £10 cheque last week so I'm just waiting for this at the mo! My account with them has been open since Aug 2002 and my balance has been up & down since this time (peaking at 6k.....where it is now!!) If you're not sure as to how much PPI you have paid, send them the SAR request....there is a template on this forum somewhere!

I also sent the stage 2 letter a day after I posted the SAR. Did Cap One fob you off at first???

    This account is still Active.

Question I had is can I claim all PPI payments made to them? Should I ask for details of my PPI payments?

    Hi John.

Yes you can claim back ALL the PPI payments made to them plus interest, and if you require more info on this I would definately ask them to send you this through the post.;)

    Hi Guys,

I will also keep you posted on two other companies.

Egg. Hard heads. Could not crack them. So the case has gone on to the Finance Obs Man.

BarclayCard. Takne the longest for a formal reply to my orginal letter. Had updates to say they are looking into my case. Next update due 6th April.

    Cheers
