I have rang RBS and spoke to my caseworker. FOS faxed them a copy of my acceptance letter yesterday and they are busy dealing with it at the moment, hopefully the money will be in my account within a month.

I will give them a ring after the Easter holidays.
well done, hopefully you wont have to wait too long, fingers crossed

 hi all having a bad day got a letter from the Abbey and they are refusing to refund my bank charges therefore I think I will be getting the FSO involved in this am fed up with them how they can justify charging someone over £320 worth of charges in a month is beyond me.

Am so fed up with them. Am having major problems with my upstairs neighbour who seems to want to blast music at the loudest level possible have no idea what to do about him should I get the police or phone the council I dont pay a !!!!!!! mortgage every month to have eejits like him upstairs having parties and playing music at 3 in the morning gr gr gr

I think I should go out and come back in again lol still keeping everything crossed re my letters x:T :T

Just a quick update. I phoned up the FOS this morning and the guy there told me that Barclays have a set criteria to follow on working out the payment. He told me that they will pay me back 6 years from the day of my claim. He also told me that by signing the acceptance we are only accepting the offer. If however, we are not happy with what they pay us then we can complain to the FOS. I was hoping we could claim all the way back to 1996, but 6 years is better than nowt!

Tomorrow I'll be calling Barclaycard up to see if they can give me the calculations and also if they can verify what they intend to give us in advance. The FOS advised me to do this as he didn't have details or contacts/phone numbers in Barclays.

We'll see anyway and I'll keep everyone updated with how it goes. Thanks Di for your reply. I notice that you help so many people. Top girl, cheers.

 Thankyou Di once again you are a great help and it's much appreciated.

I am going through all my previous loans with Halifax and scouring them to see if I took PPI out hey the more the better or the merrier eh?

Just hoping to get my finances sorted once and for all as both me and dh are just so hacked off yes I know I got myself into this and believe me I WILL get back out of it.

Just had major barny with the upstairs neighbour.....he was blasting Hey Jude just now and I had to go and shout at him to turn it down as he woke my wee boy up he's only 4 and his routine is all out the window as the numpty upstairs has no consideration for people!

He did say sorry lol :T but he keeps doing it once too often......

Oh well its 5 past 12 and I should really get to my bed but happy harry aka hubby is in one stinker of a mood courtesy of our lovely neighbour and his friends. hehe:rotfl:

Oh well its only 4 more days til the weekend when he should be playing it hehe!

On a good note my work won Firm of the Year at the Scottish Legal Awards lol so things are good at work which means pennies will still be paid at the mo.

Nite nite everyone sleep tight and hopt to get somewhere soon with these letters

    Hi Guys,

I have had an offer from Captial One. It took the second letter to get the offer. However I am struggling to understand if the amount is correct. It is for a Credit Card with a balance of around £8,000. Should Captial One Refund all monies paid? The offer they have made is £1205.41. I can not remember how long I have had a the card for. It may be about 5 or 6 years.

    All help welcome.

    Many thanks

    John

I have had my 'receipt of complaint' letter from Natwest saying they have assigned a case worked etc and that they aim to complete most issues in 4 weeks but it can take upto 8 weeks.
From reading the posts here I suspect that if they offer anything it will be the past 6 years (I have had the CC since 1996) payment protection.
So now it is the waiting game..........
