They have 40 days to comply, when did you send this?.

We only sent it 10 days ago. So they still have a bit more time. Thanks for your advise.

    Hi all

Just a question.... I applied for a card online with MBNA back in Feb 2006. As a rule I never go for PPI cover and after receiving my agreement paperwork from MBNA, I was shocked to see I had paid PPI. Reading the step by step guide on this website I understand that prior to July 2006 you generally had to opt out of PPI with most banks online applications by unticking the PPI box. Does anyone know if this applied to MBNA at this time? I'll need this information to know if it was a personal mistake or whether I have a valid claim.

    Thanks
Most were pre ticked,so i would assume this applies to all?,unless anyone knows any different.

It could be they just extended the ppi as you have the same policy number, what happened with yours and were you paying this twice?.

The original protection was for 5 yrs and cost £831 which found in small print,LOL well have now got glasses.

The second loan which paid of the first and the single payment ppi was then £3021 for the ppi as single payment. and didnt cover the 6 yr repayment.
im going to request the plan details from axa and see what it says.
    si.
  • Hi,

I was watching Martin Lewis on This Morning the other day and he mentioned that if you had taken out a loan or credit card and were paying PPI on them you could reclaim it. I definatly did, however I no longer own any of the paper work to prove it. How do I go about getting a copy of this original paper work from the bank. is there a letter template on here that someone could point me in the direction of?

I do hope someone can help me!

    Many thanks

If i have read this right, both loans had ppi on,when you settled the first loan with the second one,you will have been given a rebate of the ppi but the remaining ppi is carried over to the second loan,so in effect for the second loan, the remaining ppi is still be paid for, this is what happens when loans are rolled over into another one,it looks like this is what happened, and they do this, that's why most ppi is mis sold
Because you are paying ppi remaining from a past loan.

If you go mis sell, they should look at both the loans and redress and take the rebate off that you had for the first loan.
Both ppi were mis sold as they were front loaded, you paid these back over term with interest and sometimes the cover does not last the term of the loan but you still pay the ppi even though you have no cover.
    Does this help?.

If these loans and cards were opened in the past 6 years, get a free trial of your credit report, this will give you the last 4 digits of the account numbers, then ring the banks and ask if they can find you, they may find you without the numbers, give it a try.

Any paid by DD your bank may find the DD and the account numbers will be there.

If that fails, you need to SAR the banks
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1475553
Enclose £10 for each bank, not each account as you want all info they hold on you.

If you know you had ppi then look here for reasons for mis sell
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#step2

and when you have the 4 digits or the account number, and reasons for mis sell, then put a claim in.
