Hi
I need some advice on ppi if anyone can help.
My partner had a loan for several years, it was settled in feb 2006, he was self emp. At the time and his bank was always in his o/draft so they said if the ppi wasn't taken out he wouldn't get the loan approved so he accepted to take the ppi on his loan, is this a case of mis sell?
Also have no paperwork, but called bank and got the account number of the loan, and confirmed ppi was on the loan, but refused to give him an address to ask for copy's of paperwork due to data protection, this is lloyds, but can't find any address on the Internet. Is this right?
Also now I have the account number of the loan, can I set up a claim with just the account number or do I need a policy number for the ppi? or do I need to know how much ppi was paid in total? Any help much appriciated.0 -

Hi c-101,
Being told NO PPI, NO LOAN is a good reason to believe you was mis sold.
If it was an upfront payment this too is a big no no. Some policies didn't cover the self employed but some did so unless you have the Policy Booklet or T & C's of the policy this is hard to say.
The address you need is

Also if you can help, I had a loan with a.l which they told me I needed ppi to get the loan, which I did take, but i haven't got the account number but got the address to write to to get the details but the account was settled middle march 06, if I don't hear back from them before march it will run into 7 years is that too late to put in a claim?
Also if either is successful should they pay back what ppi has been paid or just a percentage, tia0 -

Hi c-101,
You might just squeak in on the time scale with that, get the questionnaire off to them.
If you get a full uphold you will get back ALL PPI paid + 8% standard interest and some do pay back the APR but lots don't
If due to a lack of records (over 6 years old) you may get a "gesture of good will" which averages around £1,200 this basically says they admit you were mis sold but due to lack of info we will pay you a set amountSuccesses

Fingers crossed, I'll send them both of tomorrow and see what comes of it. I don't have much luck but I've got nothing to lose, Ill be happy if I get £100 let alone £1200. Thanks so much for your help, wish I'd done it sooner now.0 -

When, due to an european regulation, i unfortunately lost my job.. for 3 months i was out of work. when i applied for cover for my mortgage, i was told that due to my wife working. I was not entitled to any payments. Was i mis sold, or was i just a mug who gave thousands away.....

that might be the case karen the fos are very bad with regard to cap one and reject lots of consumer complaints but it's deffo worth having a go, my second adjudicator was brilliant and cut to the chase immediately:):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)
As predicted, because I've had the T&Cs, ticked the box, never checked statements until all the publicity, etc., there is no reason to uphold the complaint. Ignorance (who REALLY reads all T&Cs?) is no excuse.
There is nothing in the letter that I can really dispute on that basis, so how do I respond and say I disagree - or do I just say that 'I disagree and wish to take the matter further' and push on? I have nothing else to say to substantiate my claim, other than to say that in view of the publicity and knowing that others have been paid out, I want my share as well! I don't feel I have a leg to stand on so is there any point?SPCNo.18 #20 (17 £562.86 16 £678; 15 £1120.92; 14 £416.53; 13 £191.52; 12 £260.48; 11 £480.95; 10 £682.31; 9 £442.64)
