As I have had my credit card for much longer than 6 years, maybe anything up to 10 - 15 years, is it worth me paying for a SAR's or will Lloyds go back further than 6 years and provide the original paperwork when I took out the credit card?0

The other thing is that I was 'sold' this card and I'm self employed (and was at the time of the card application!) Now I understand PPI benefits do not cover the self employed (if they become 'unemployed' etc etc) so I firmly believe I would NOT have opted to willingly pay for PPI if I was not to receive any of the benfits....why would I pay for something I'm not going to get? Do I still have a case with this despite it showing I 'ticked' the box to opt in for PPI????
If the ppi did not cover you, then put a claim in. Look here for other reasons that may apply to you too.

Afternoon guys
just had a letter from halifax offering me a full refund minus previously accepted claim which i dont remember doing can a challange this as im claiming the ppi was mis sold
Ask them for proof of the claim you made on the policy as you do not recall claiming on the ppi.0 -
For those that have filled in the Questionaire form, the D.6 question that asks "Did you have any other means of making your repayments - if you were unable to work through sickness, accident etc"
Is answering YES the best option? Otherwise, would the banks not say that there was a case that having insurance is the best option for you?

Simple question, I had ppi on my mortgage, which i paid for 10 years. When, due to an european regulation, i unfortunately lost my job.. for 3 months i was out of work. when i applied for cover for my mortgage, i was told that due to my wife working. I was not entitled to any payments. Was i mis sold, or was i just a mug who gave thousands away.....0

I recently contacted my old loan company over a PPI claim and yesterday I got a reply from them.
In the reply they have said that they have listened to my original phone call about taking the loan out and they are satisfied that I have no claim. BUT in one of my phone calls with them (A&L) I was told that if I didnt take the PPI I would be refused the loan, obviously this is not the phone call they listened to.
I had another loan with them prior to the loan in question which was for £2500 more but had no PPI on that one at all yet all my circumstances were still the same when i came to take the new loan.
I have been told that I can contact them by phone to discuss my complaint and they have also said that I can take it up with FOS.
What should be my next step?
Is the letter they have sent me just the normal letter that everyone gets first time round?
Thanks for your help0 -

Could be a fob off, which is quite normal. If I were you I would do as they say and phone them and demand a transcribe of this phone call, don't give up on the phone until you get a yes or no to your request. If they try to fob you off whilst on the phone, mention the other conversation you had where they stated "no PPI, no loan" and could you have a transcribe of this too. If not you WILL take this to the FOS, give them 14 days to send a responseSuccesses

Good luck, it's a case of calling their bluff, if the telephone call exists they should have no problem sending you a transcribe of it. If it was upfront PPI mention that too and see if they can defend that, they will struggleSuccesses
