i took out a loan in 1988/89 for £3000 to purchase my first car and remember being annoyed that i had to take out loan insurance otherwise would not have been given the loan. I do not hold any paperwork but do still have the same bank account. Can i claim this far back. Also remember having a couple of store cards that you had to have insurance on also no paperwork for these. What should i do.
    Thanks

A friend of mine has now claimed back on a credit card from 1988, as to your store cards i would send in a cca request, enclose £1.00 for your relevant agreements as long as the store cards are active the banks should honour this they have 12 days to comply, other than that just ask the lenders for the info if they won't give it to you it's time for a sar (details below)

Thanks Cappo. Why do you think I should SAR them rather than just fill in the consumer questionaire and fire that off to Lloyds?

Hi linus you could be potentially be looking at a few pounds there, you could just risk putting in a questionairre and hope that you don't get the 6 year rubbish that they are all starting to come out with now or go forearmed with a bit of info beforehand, have a think about what you want to do, a friend of mine put in a blind claim without a sar or questionairre and recovered 34k going back to 1988 it really depends on how much info they hold on you.

    Hi,

My boyfriend had loans with LLoyds TSB which they agreed to settle and advised that payment would be made as soon as possible. They paid the interest up until the 6th February but no payment has been made yet.
Should Lloyds TSB pay the extra interest on each day that has passed since the 6th??

    Thanks

They will pay you the 8%,that is what they will owe you,to the day you receive the full payment.
This is on a decreasing scale,so it wont be much, but then again it depends how slow Lloyds are :D
The 8% is taxable so if you are a taxpayer you need to contact HMRC to pay this, unless the tax is taken off before they give you the redress.

Let me ask is it illegal to sell you your ppi policy twice, lol and not issue a new policy number keep the same policy and resell on?
    si.
It could be they just extended the ppi as you have the same policy number, what happened with yours and were you paying this twice?.

thank you telephone call 6th feb about complaint
in your call you told us that
    • you were led to belive that you would need to take ppi out if you wanted to ensure that you got the loans or credit cards.
if my understanding of your compliant is incorrect please contact us asap.

no questionaire sent to fill out is this correct ??
do i need to send of sars request as i cannot find all paperwork
anybody had dealings with halifax and this compliant before
They do not ask for a form to be filled in,so that is ok.
They are asking you if you are complaining for mis sell with the reason above, the reason above is hard to prove as it your word against whoever sold you the insurance,if you only used that reason, then you need to look here for reasons for mis sell

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/rec...nsurance#step2
If anymore apply to you then let them know.

They will still look at the complaint, and you may win redress, but to be on the safe side see if anymore reasons apply to you.
Why do you need the paperwork if your complaint is in and being looked at?,you need to give them more reasons for mis sell, but Halifax are auto upholding at the moment,so you may get lucky.

Hi, I have claims in with HSBC, The AA (through the Royal Bank Of Scotland) and NRam (Northern Rock). I phoned NRam today and they said an outcome letter has been sent to be and I should get it within 3 working days but they couldn't tell me over the telephone, do you think them not telling me over the phone is good news, bad news or no news?

Not sure, but fingers crossed,if you do get a rejection, post up why they did this and we may be able to help you more.

  • Hi all

Just a question.... I applied for a card online with MBNA back in Feb 2006. As a rule I never go for PPI cover and after receiving my agreement paperwork from MBNA, I was shocked to see I had paid PPI. Reading the step by step guide on this website I understand that prior to July 2006 you generally had to opt out of PPI with most banks online applications by unticking the PPI box. Does anyone know if this applied to MBNA at this time? I'll need this information to know if it was a personal mistake or whether I have a valid claim.

    Thanks
  • help needed please.
