    Afternoon all,

Quick question, I sent a letter to MBNA requesting all my original documents, they have cashed the cheque (13th Feb) my letter was dated the 4th but I have no letter or even a phone call from them about my original documents, what would be the next step? Do I sit and wait or do I contact them and have a whinge?
If this was the SAR for £10,they have 40 days to comply.

  • Hi guys,

I've had a rummage through some posts to try and find an answer to my question with little luck so thought I'd try here.

    Anyway, my question(s) would be:

Does anyone know who I contact in regards to reclaiming mis sold PPI from a paypal credit card?

I've tried contacting paypal who gave me a number for financial insurance company limited who then told me I need to contact Santander. Upon contacting them they have told me they do not deal with the Paypal Credit Card so I really don't know who or where to contact? Does anyone else have a Paypal Credit Card and have the same problem?

Any information on the matter would be greatly appreciated. It's driving me mad!
  • Anybody else reclaming/had successes with MBNA?? I've read my t&c's through and and in the box for PPI it states "I understand I am purchasing the product(s) ticked above on credit provided by you and that the terms relating to the credit for the products can be found at paragraphs 1.16 of the agreement"........THERE IS NO PARAGRAPH 1.16!!!!!
  • Hi,
Not sure if anyone else has had this experience, but thought I check people's thoughts out.
I took out a loan in 2000 and was told I HAD to have PPI. I then took out a new loan in 2004 replacing the original - paying it off was a part of the terms. PPI was not mentioned as such on the replacement loan, the lady dealing with my application at the bank asked me to fax the signed form back to her and she would sort things at the bank end.
In 2008 I contacted the bank (having read the MSE info) to get the PPI cancelled. I had a heck of a job, in fact the loan came to an end before the PPI was dealt with - the bank then paid back from the July when I called to cancel to the end of the loan. I tried to reclaim the PPI in total and got a rejection letter including a copy of my form as justification. However the copy they sent me is different to the copy I hold (and as it was a fax I hold the original with my signature) The tick boxes on my copy do not agree and the signature whilst mine is definitely not the one I signed on my form, so I assume they have taken a photocopy of another and inserted it. I was also kicked out of the bank - account closed and no going back! (reason given that I and my "husband" had been rude to the staff and they didn't want to work with me any more)
Due to personal berevement and then moving house I haven't pursued the claim - but am still very bitter. Do you think it worth trying again now. I am convinced they have done something fraudulent with my signature!!
    Looking forward to some advice!
    Cheers,

hi this is shocking, yes i certainly would go back to this lender and i would be threatening them with the fsa, reopen this complaint ,put your complaint in give them the 8 weeks and then fos this, if you reopen it you should get your 6 month timescale back to fos this, this lender should be ashamed of themselves, this is a win, go after them.
  • Thanks for the advice - I've downloaded the questionnaire to get things started. I am assuming that fos means Financial Ombudsman Service? Cheers!

    Hi Tracylouise
I wrote to MBNA to reclaim my PPI I had been paying for a year on the 21/01/12.They wrote back last week saying they were looking into my complaint.Today they wrote back enclosing a cheque for £318 I am not sure if to accept or to ask them for a full breakdown for the cheque enclosed and how much PPI I had paid between Jan2007-Dec 2007
You need to write to them saying there is no PARAGRAPH 1.16in your T&C
  • Hi, am new to the forum but have been reading with interest the PPI threads. I have just sent off the questionaire to MBNA for Virgin CC and today have sorted out the same for an old car loan through Shogun finance/LTSB. not sure if I'll get anywhere but have been inspired by your posts. When I looked at my Credit Expert report from several yrs ago I had 3 Halifax loans at some point, vaguely remember, found all the paperwork. The earliest is from 2002, what do you think my chances are? I bank and have my mortgage thru them so hopefully when I ring on Monday they will be receptive to any enquiry!
