Hi guys - I received 6 offers from RBS last week - totalling £4900. I'm very happy with this offer and have returned thier forms. I spoke to an RBS PPI advisor before returning their acceptance form to ask how they pay and how long it would take and was told currently they are paying within 5 days of reciept of acceptance form - I can't believe this is right - is it????
just wondered what other RBS customers have expereinced lately.
I'm not counting any chickens until that money is in the bank :-D all seems to good to be true xx0 -

@dilus thanks for your reply to my question
i have just sent of my questionaire stating that i was basically told by advisor that in order to get credit or stand a better chance of getting credit i would need this cover,
and that because i didnt use nationwide as my main account, i would stand less chance of getting it if i didnt take cover.
i think i had 2 of these loans in the past , plus i have noticed it on old credit card statements aswell ( i was never asked if i wanted this what i can remember) so ive put this on the form.
what would you say my chances are of getting anything back ??
thanks again for your knowledgehalifax loan ppi win £1607.15

Hi icmelerlovers,
The first bit is your loan and what it costs you, the second bit is Optional PPI and what it costs you, the third is the overall cost of the loan if you took the PPI with it.
This is upfront PPI which is frowned upon (a loan within a loan) and is the most upheld type of PPI, provided you have a valid reason to believe it was mis sold
do i need to get a sars report or shall i wait and see what they come back with , they have till the 1st aprilhalifax loan ppi win £1607.15

You're welcome, slightly unfortunate that you have sent the questionnaire in already as it would have really made it difficult for them to turn you down if you had mentioned it was upfront PPI but having said that DON'T worry, you can always throw that back at them IF they turn you down(They know it was upfront:( but it can help if you show them that YOU know it was)
Being told you stood a better chance of getting the loan by taking the PPI is a good reason for mis sale but it's difficult to prove IF they get funny about it.
Wait to see what response you get and let us know how it goes, they may uphold first time around, if not go with the UPFRONT approachSuccesses

If this was not a final response, get back to them.
Ask them for the recording of the sales call to send to FOS,ask them why you would not have ppi on the application form and then take it after talking to someone!! unless they convinced you to take it.
If it was the final response,go to FOS,use the argument above.
Hi Amersall,
this is the second final response they have given me lol! I told them exactly what you have said but they seem to think I still fit the criteria, so FOS it is......just means when i do win they will have to pay me more interest as i just paid off the balance lol :rotfl:IF HIND SIGHT WAS FORESIGHT WOULD I STILL NEED TO GO TO THE OPTICIANS???0 -
Hi karen escalate it to the ombudsman now
Cheers Steve, I'll wait till the FOS letter arrives. Presumably the info on what to do next will be in there.SPCNo.18 #20 (17 £562.86 16 £678; 15 £1120.92; 14 £416.53; 13 £191.52; 12 £260.48; 11 £480.95; 10 £682.31; 9 £442.64)
