Hi all I'm new to this game and am just sending off inital letters for 3 cards, Halifax and HSBC, and was wondering. I was sold to over the telephone 2006ish and wondered if they record these calls. If so can you get a transcript of the sale. It would help me out as I really can't remember much other than the caller was persistent.
    Cheers.

    Hi there and welcome

Yes you can request for a copy of the phone calls, and as it was 2006, then hopefully they may still hold these details.

Give them a call and ask if they will be kind enough to provide them to you.
They may though however, suggest you request a Subject Access Request (SAR) where they may send these details alongside with other data they will hold on the account.
There is a SAR template letter below link, enclose the one off payment of £10 cheque or postal order, and they have 40 calendar days to comply.

    Good luck.

Hi after receiving £9000 back from a couple of loans we decided to claim back on 2 tesco loans ,one finished 4 years ago to which we have received a letter of an offer. The other one we have been rejected as they said we ticked the box when applying over the internet for the loan.My husband gets full pay if he is off sick from work and last year he was off for 6 months with kidney failure and we didnt claim at all,he is also registered disabled so we have since found out that the loan wouldnt have got paid if he was off with that condition anyway.Has anyone else had this reply after claiming their ppi back. Thanks

    Hi there

Well done on your success and sorry to hear of the rejecting case, but if that was not the final decision, you have the right to write back and ask them to reconsider and give them further information and tell them you do not agree because of your reasons given.

Normally in the final decision, they will enclose details/leaflet of the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) on how to complain to them.

Like any other bank/business, this happens, some successful and other rejections, but do not give in.;)

    Hi
My partner and I took out a Mortgage with Abbey in 2008. Does anyone think it is worth me looking into this further?
I am extreamly unsavvy in these types of matters.

    Thanks.

    Hi there
If you think you were mis sold PPI with the mortgage, then yes I would give it a go at least with the reasons you have.;)

Hi, Due to this sites information I made a ppi claim against rbs.

The letter I received after making claim stated they accepted no liability but would award me the exact money I paid for ppi over a 5 year period

Has anyone been successful in increasing their first offer?

    Callol

    Hi there

    Well done on your success!;)

So basically, they are still refunding you all you paid but just not accepting any liability as such for mis selling.
If this is the case, then even if it comes under an offer, it may well be the full one and as far as you can reclaim.
    Did they mention interest?

    Hi All,

I have been delaying looking at my PPI because it all seemed a bit to complicated to get my head round. I know the site tries to make it simple but I am sure everyone is in a similar boat when there situation never feels simple.

When I left uni back in 2004 my finances where in a bad place I took a loan out with lloyds in Sept, sadly I don't have the original paperwork but from looking at my statements I know the loan account number, but I do know if the original loan had PPI.

Less than a year later I then had to refinance my loan as I was still not on top of my debts in July 2005. I don't have the T&C's for this loan but I do know I have PPI on it. What frustrates me is I was so naive to not challenge did I want or need this and the fact I even paid interest on the PPI (11.9%!!!!). This loan has been paid off now.

I then later took another loan from lloyds in May 08, still not aware of my rights about PPI and fearing being declined never challenged did I need or want the cover. Especially now I have read some notes about what would my company of covered me for if I had been ill as get pretty good sickness cover. Again I do not have the T&C's for this loan but I have the cover note which shows me the break down of the loan about and the fact I have PPI and paid interest on this yet again....11.5%!

How do I go about challenging this I have read Martins site and downloaded the FOS questionaire....

    1) How do I go about complaining to Lloyds, can I include all 3 loans in the same complaint or do I need to do these separately? Can I even claim separately or will the bank accuse me of being aware after my first loan?
Hi there, if mis sold for all the same reasons, then yes you can keep all 3 on the same complaint, but just make sure you enclose all account numbers that apply.
If you prefer you can complain separately.
They should though however, look into other accounts as well, once you make a complaint on just one, but complaining on all 3 the same time, at least you know you have already made that complaint.
    2) Do I need to print off a set letter to send with the FOS questionnaire or just post the questionnaire?
You do not have to write a letter, a questionnaire will do,

Would really appreciate any advice and support on how best to tackle this and if I even can.... just don't know where to start and feel like I have been putting this off for far too long.

    Many Thanks

    Robert

If you do directly on Lloyds website, you can also follow the complaining procedures direct from their site, the address of where to send are included too.
Remember to keep copies for yourself as well, though.

You should receive an acknowledgment within a week or 2, then about 8 to possibly 12 weeks on the complaint "should" be resolved.

    Good luck.

Lloyds do ppi mis sell over the phone, have your reasons for mis sell ready if you do

Thanks Amersall and DI3004 I will follow your advice/links and let you know how I get on.
  • This forum is brilliant.:)

I have just received a statement after sending SAR to Lloyds. I got a £10000 loan with them in Sep 2002 which was used to pay off another £10000 loan from July 2000. I was charged £2064 front-loaded onto loan for PPI but when I paid it off 13 months later I got a rebate £1272 for PPI.

Does anyone know roughly how much to expect from this claim? I am hoping for more paperwork on earlier loan too when I get my bundle from Lloyds branch tomorrow, so I can put in a claim for that.
  • Good Morning All,

After taking advise from cappo & beamerguy (and of course reading all the success stories from another thread) I'm sending off a covering letter and FOS questionnaire to MBNA via recorded post at lunch time.

...fingers, toes & everything else is crossed. :)
  • Hi there

I was wondering if you may help me.

I have been trying to get my head round all the PPI info but I am still struggling slightly with it all.

I have has a RBS Mastercard since 1999 and upon checking my online banking I am still paying for a PPI I do not recall agreeing to (or needing at the time when I took the Mastercard out) would my next step be to get a copy of the contract from RBS?

I also had a RBS loan from 2002 to 2007, should I request information on this too?

Thanks in advance as I am rather confused by it all.
