Morning. I need a little help from the wise. Goldfish, More Than, and CSMA credit cards are all now defunct, but does anyone know who took them over? All my records went up in smoke, I'm afraid. I know that CSMA was Frissel, who inturn was Liverpool Victoria (LV), but each of these cards that I once owned were taken over and I cannot remember by whom. Many thanks in advanceI'm back after a break :money:0

Morning, quick success story, nationwide responded to me yesterday and despite me signing the forms wanting their loancare cover they agreed that I didn't have all the facts so will be refunding me, by my calculations over £750! Result, still waiting to hear from the crooks of capital one though0

Hello,
Has anyone any experience of Virgin?
Two weeks ago I sent a letter to Virgin (MBNA) complaining against the mis-selling of PPI on my Virgin credit Card.I have received a reply requesting I complete a FOS questionaire and I'm wondering if you can help me with my reply so that I don't trip myself up!
I originally applied for the card on a 'pre-selected,guaranteed acceptance' type of letter sent to me by Virgin in 2004. As far as I remember there was very little I had to complete on the form and I certainly don't remember being given any info about PPI and think now if there was a question about PPI it was pre-ticked,but can't say for sure. I certainly didn't need PPI due to having cover from work and an income protection policy that kicked in after that finished.
So any advice you can give me would be great....just wondering if anyone has had any success with Virgin and remembers being offered the card in the same way.
Thank you.0 -
I sent a letter to the tax office at the beginning of December asking for my expenses for my claims to be taken into account (I claimed postage, 20 mins of my time per claim(£5.00) SAR costs and one printer cartridge, I included photocopies of all the receipts)
Today I received a letter to say that none of my expenses will be taken into account and that i have to pay the full amount due on the 8% interest paid.
Surely this cant be correct, if i had used a claims company i would have been able to claim that.
Does anyone know if there is an appeals process for the tax office?0 -

Hi lisa i don't have too much experience of the taxman now as i'm a non taxpayer due to being invalided out of work because of my stroke but from the time i was working i would expect you to be able to claim this as it's an expense there must be an appeals process or you could talk to an accountant i've got one living with us at the moment she's a corporate accountant but i'll see what she says0 -

I'm sure there is an appeals procedure lise, at the very worst ask them to change your tax code and take it through your tax then if you have your money invested from your compo you can leave it where it is. this tax on fraudulent money stolen from you is pretty shocking though:eek::eek:0 -
LLoyds PPI from 1996 and 1999
Hi
I have had a few loans in the past with PPI added. Two of the loans were with Lloyds Bank one was opened circa 1996 and the other in 1999. I had the opening statements from the 1999 loan showing up front charges of over £1800 .I did not have a copy of the loan agreement but Lloyds paid me back over £4000 "success":jOn the other loan from 1996 I only have statements from 2000 and 2001. These statements show that I paid off the loan 2 1/2 years early.
I have statement numbers 16 - 20.On each statement 3 monthly payments are listed would I be right in assuming therefore that there would have been 45 previous payments. Yes,if these were loan payments for the loan you are claiming mis sell for.
Lloyds also say that they have applied to the insurers Aviva for the original documentation but they no longer have copies of the insurance policy.Does this mean that they know that the insurance existed. These could be the insurers that Lloyds use and they were trying to find the ppi document. To add to the confusion they keep telling me over the phone that my monthly payments were £530 which is exactly what I paid for a car loan in 2000 with Black Horse. Is it likely that Aviva are talking about the car loan. This is possible, you need to contact them and let them know this. Will Lloyds still have records of the loan and what the upfront charges were,It is possible that they have some record of the loan, what stage are you at with this loan complaint? and if they cant get the original insurance documents will it affect my chances of success. If you have no proof of ppi and the bank dont either, they are trying to get proof of ppi being made.
If no proof of ppi exists they may make you goodwill gesture, you need to tell them about the monthly payment the insurer is saying,as it seems to me they are assuming this is the loan you are claiming for.
When you put the mis sell in did you send copies of these statements showing the settlement date?.I won mis sell with Barclays and i only had the settlement figure.0
