  • Hi All,

I have been delaying looking at my PPI because it all seemed a bit to complicated to get my head round. I know the site tries to make it simple but I am sure everyone is in a similar boat when there situation never feels simple.

When I left uni back in 2004 my finances where in a bad place I took a loan out with lloyds in Sept, sadly I don't have the original paperwork but from looking at my statements I know the loan account number, but I do know if the original loan had PPI.

Less than a year later I then had to refinance my loan as I was still not on top of my debts in July 2005. I don't have the T&C's for this loan but I do know I have PPI on it. What frustrates me is I was so naive to not challenge did I want or need this and the fact I even paid interest on the PPI (11.9%!!!!). This loan has been paid off now.

I then later took another loan from lloyds in May 08, still not aware of my rights about PPI and fearing being declined never challenged did I need or want the cover. Especially now I have read some notes about what would my company of covered me for if I had been ill as get pretty good sickness cover. Again I do not have the T&C's for this loan but I have the cover note which shows me the break down of the loan about and the fact I have PPI and paid interest on this yet again....11.5%!

How do I go about challenging this I have read Martins site and downloaded the FOS questionaire....

    1) How do I go about complaining to Lloyds, can I include all 3 loans in the same complaint or do I need to do these separately? Can I even claim separately or will the bank accuse me of being aware after my first loan?

    2) Do I need to print off a set letter to send with the FOS questionnaire or just post the questionnaire?

Would really appreciate any advice and support on how best to tackle this and if I even can.... just don't know where to start and feel like I have been putting this off for far too long.

    Many Thanks

    Robert

    Hi,

I am a newbie to the PPI claiming back and I have a question about how long ago it can go back? I took out HP on a car in 2002 and i only realised when I traded it in a few years later that I was paying PPI on the loan. Is this too far to go back?

Also, hubby has an mbna credit card with PPI on it, he got it as a student and wasn't working so surely this would be a mis-sell?

    Thanks.

Hi all I'm new to this game and am just sending off inital letters for 3 cards, Halifax and HSBC, and was wondering. I was sold to over the telephone 2006ish and wondered if they record these calls. If so can you get a transcript of the sale. It would help me out as I really can't remember much other than the caller was persistent.
    Cheers.

Hi there,if they reject your mis sell and use the telephone recording as a reason for rejecting, then you can disagree with this and ask for a copy of the call.

If you feel you were pressured into taking this ppi, then say that in your claim.

Look here for other reasons for mis sell.

If you want a copy of the recording (if they still have it) they may ask for a fee of £10 and you will have to fill in a SAR request.

If you have reasons for mis sell, then put a claim in,see what response you get back.

Hi after receiving £9000 back from a couple of loans we decided to claim back on 2 tesco loans ,one finished 4 years ago to which we have received a letter of an offer. The other one we have been rejected as they said we ticked the box when applying over the internet for the loan.My husband gets full pay if he is off sick from work and last year he was off for 6 months with kidney failure and we didnt claim at all,he is also registered disabled so we have since found out that the loan wouldnt have got paid if he was off with that condition anyway.Has anyone else had this reply after claiming their ppi back. Thanks
Most boxes before July 2006 were automatically ticked, you had the option to opt out,get back in touch and let them know this, also with the reasons you gave above, and ask them to reconsider your claim.

Hi, Due to this sites information I made a ppi claim against rbs.

The letter I received after making claim stated they accepted no liability but would award me the exact money I paid for ppi over a 5 year period

Has anyone been successful in increasing their first offer?

    Callol

Is it just "the exact money"?.
Or is it ppi plus 8%?.
Did you give all the info they needed, account number etc?.

Can I even claim separately or will the bank accuse me of being aware after my first loan? You can put all three account numbers on the one form,if the reasons for mis sell are the same. They may not even consider that you should have known after the first loan, others have won mis sell with more than 3 loans and they have never been questioned.

    2) Do I need to print off a set letter to send with the FOS questionnaire or just post the questionnaire? You dont have to,unless there is information that you cannot fit on the form,

Would really appreciate any advice and support on how best to tackle this and if I even can.... just don't know where to start and feel like I have been putting this off for far too long.

When was the car loan paid off and do you have the account number?.

If you have reasons for mis sell.

Then send the complaint to the dealership.

Re the Credit Card, they are good reasons for mis sell, look for other reasons too,and if any/all apply to you, then put a claim in.

Thanks for your help - the car loan was paid off in 2004 when i traded the car in, I should have the paperwork so can get the account number for them.

going to work on the claims this week, have been going through previous accounts and looking to see what I have been mis-sold.

    Thanks again.
  • Thankyou Amershall for your reply I have posted the inital letters today to start the ball rolling. I will shake the tree and see what falls out!
