    Hello,

Has anyone any experience of Virgin?

Two weeks ago I sent a letter to Virgin (MBNA) complaining against the mis-selling of PPI on my Virgin credit Card.I have received a reply requesting I complete a FOS questionaire and I'm wondering if you can help me with my reply so that I don't trip myself up!

I originally applied for the card on a 'pre-selected,guaranteed acceptance' type of letter sent to me by Virgin in 2004. As far as I remember there was very little I had to complete on the form and I certainly don't remember being given any info about PPI and think now if there was a question about PPI it was pre-ticked,but can't say for sure. I certainly didn't need PPI due to having cover from work and an income protection policy that kicked in after that finished.

So any advice you can give me would be great....just wondering if anyone has had any success with Virgin and remembers being offered the card in the same way.

    Thank you.
You wont trip yourself up if you put the same reasons for mis sell in this letter as you did the first one.
It is possible this box was pre ticked, they were before 07,use this as a reason.

Look here for other reasons for mis sell that you may have.http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-credit-card-insurance#step2

If you dont know the answer to a question, just put you cannot remember.

Morning. I need a little help from the wise. Goldfish, More Than, and CSMA credit cards are all now defunct, but does anyone know who took them over? All my records went up in smoke, I'm afraid. I know that CSMA was Frissel, who inturn was Liverpool Victoria (LV), but each of these cards that I once owned were taken over and I cannot remember by whom. Many thanks in advance

    Barclays took Goldfish over.
Cant help with the others,if your Egg card was not in use when they went to Barclaycard then you have to put a complaint into Egg,you will need the card number to do this.

Barclays will not have your account details.
  • hi i don't know whether anyone can give me any advice. i have been waiting for a payout from Lloyds since september 2011. i ring and email each week and always feel that am being fobbed off. I have since had a new calculation at the end of December. All i get told is that a cheque will be sent and they cannot give a time scale. Does anyone have an alternative email address other than their customer care one or a legal route which I could pursue.
    thanks

Hi nahla this probably isn't much use to you and i'm not suggesting you do it but i had the same with them and i threatened them with the county court if they did'nt pay me within 7 days (after taking 6 weeks initially) they paid me on the 7th day.

Thankyou for that, is that straight forward to do and how much does it cost?

well it is a last resort but if you had to enforce your uphold to get your money there would be a charge normally a percentage of the monies disputed if you are actually going to go down this route i would threaten the county court but actually if enforceament was needed i would go through MCOL which is money court online see link below.

  • Hi all I'm new to this game and am just sending off inital letters for 3 cards, Halifax and HSBC, and was wondering. I was sold to over the telephone 2006ish and wondered if they record these calls. If so can you get a transcript of the sale. It would help me out as I really can't remember much other than the caller was persistent.
    Cheers.
  • Hi after receiving £9000 back from a couple of loans we decided to claim back on 2 tesco loans ,one finished 4 years ago to which we have received a letter of an offer. The other one we have been rejected as they said we ticked the box when applying over the internet for the loan.My husband gets full pay if he is off sick from work and last year he was off for 6 months with kidney failure and we didnt claim at all,he is also registered disabled so we have since found out that the loan wouldnt have got paid if he was off with that condition anyway.Has anyone else had this reply after claiming their ppi back. Thanks

  • Hi, Due to this sites information I made a ppi claim against rbs.

The letter I received after making claim stated they accepted no liability but would award me the exact money I paid for ppi over a 5 year period

Has anyone been successful in increasing their first offer?

    Callol
