  • Hi Cappo so should I write again to barclaycard or to egg. I know for certain I had PPI on the egg card and it seems a shame to let them get away with it but if they are laying dumb. I dont know what to do I have no documentation relating to the card as it was such a long time ago.

Hi ian i think it needs to be barclays you need to chase as barclays have now taken over the egg credit cards so the debt is there's i believe.

    Hi there

I was wondering if you may help me.

I have been trying to get my head round all the PPI info but I am still struggling slightly with it all.

I have has a RBS Mastercard since 1999 and upon checking my online banking I am still paying for a PPI I do not recall agreeing to (or needing at the time when I took the Mastercard out) would my next step be to get a copy of the contract from RBS?

I also had a RBS loan from 2002 to 2007, should I request information on this too?

Thanks in advance as I am rather confused by it all.

Yes toon you need to get as much info as you possibly can, online applications are a little bit different as technically you can download the paperwork at the time of your application, did rbs call you to discuss ppi or activate your insurance/card etc.
  • Hi Cappo, thanks for the reply. I cannot recall discussing PPI, tbh I was still living with my parents and had no financial concerns so really could not see me agreeing to PPI (I never bother with anything similar ie Phone Insurance etc)

    This forum is brilliant.:)

I have just received a statement after sending SAR to Lloyds. I got a £10000 loan with them in Sep 2002 which was used to pay off another £10000 loan from July 2000. I was charged £2064 front-loaded onto loan for PPI but when I paid it off 13 months later I got a rebate £1272 for PPI.

Does anyone know roughly how much to expect from this claim? I am hoping for more paperwork on earlier loan too when I get my bundle from Lloyds branch tomorrow, so I can put in a claim for that.
You should get the ppi amount plus 8% interest, less the rebate.
What about the ppi on the first loan?.

I am due to get all my SAR info tomorrow as I have to pick it up from my local branch. This loan info arrived from Peterlee loan office today but there was no info on loan from 2000. Hopefully the other info on my current account will shed some info on the other loan, and in particular an account number. It was a loan for £10000 with PPI, and was paid off with this loan mentioned above.

hi folks, wondering if anyone can help me, i have been trying to claim back my ppi from WELCOME FINANCE. It came to a standstill so i passed it over to investor compensation. I recieved a letter this morning saying "unfortunatley as the vendor who sold me my ppi was'nt regulated at the time of sale", however they have advised me to seek clarification of this descision from the finance and leasing association does this mean i still have a chance of claiming? thanks Ged.

You will get the £2.0064 less the £1272 = £792,they will give you 8% interest on top of this (this is taxable)this is done on a sliding scale so decreases for each month you had the loan the nearer it gets to the redress.

When you settled the first loan with the second one,you will have been given a rebate of the ppi for this, the remaining ppi will have been carried over to the second loan,so you will get that back also.

You should get rid of the company you are using, you will chase this up and they will take a % of any redress you may win.
What year was the loan, and who was this through?.

If it was pre Jan 2005 you need to find out who the insurer was,you put a claim into them for mis sell, this ppi would have been front loaded and is a win,the ppi was in effect another loan that you paid to term end with interest, dont forget to put this in your claim.

The insurer will come back with a get lost! if they do you can ask the FOS to help you.

Dont think the FLA are much good to be honest listening to a few on this site.
