Hi I am about to send SAR letters out for cc PPI possible claims but one is for Natwest and another for Mint. Both now owned by RBS so do I send to them one each or will one to RBS suffice? The other is to Goldfish who passed it to Morgan Stanley who passed it to Barclaycard! Do I send this to Barclaycard? Thanks in advance for any answers???

Do separate claims for natwest and mint and yes sent m.s card to barclays.

Hi there, I really need some help and advice on where to start or what to do.
I've had a hsbc bank account for about 14 years, I started off taking a small loan out to pay my overdraft off and from there it spiralled, consolidated more times than I can count and had PPI everytime. Having built up lots of charges from living in my overdraft due to redundancy, the loan is now under management by metropolitan collection services after defaulting. I am now on a payment plan as I am still unemployed and was wondering if I can attempt to claim any of the PPI or charges back?
I have 4 credit cards which I am struggling to pay minimum amounts back for each month but my partner helps so that I can manage to live a little. On these credit cards when I got made redundant I made a claim on the PPI having discovered that I had it by ringing them when I couldnt pay. Am I still able to make attempts to claim this back even though I made a claim?
2 of the credit cards are with the same company and since the claim finished they have continued to charge me over limit fees, missed payment fees etc and also added on PPI even though I have told them I am in financial difficulty (which they have acknowledged as they put me on a temporary payment plan-when this expired they told me my normal payments had to resume) They would not cancel the PPI unless i wrote to them, which I did and they seem to have ignored.

I am one very confused lady, desperate to stop living off my partner and get out of all this bad debt!
Any advice, encouragement or guidance would be amazing-I really want to deal with this head on!

Hi mrs parkes sorry to hear about the situation your in but on a more positive note yes you can claim but expect the ppi rebates to go off the debts before you get any refund but on a more positive note you will be clearing your debt.

    Hi All,

Thought i'd share some good news !!!!!!!!!
Just after xmas I posted about how to go about claiming PPI from MBNA.

I have now received a letter today saying they are upholding my complaint and are paying out within 28 days.

No questions, no questionnaires. A simple phone call, some security details and roberts your aunties brother. !!!

I urge all MBNA CC holders to do the same !!

Very Happy .......... Thanks Mr Lewis for your website. I would've just plodded on paying for this if it wasn't for this site and some very helpful forum users.

    Well done:beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::j:j:j:j:money::money::money::money::D:D:D:D:T:T:T:T:cool::cool::cool::cool::):):):):):)

Thank you so much! To be really honest I dont mind it going off the debt I'm not hoping to get a big cash payment to splash just to clear some off the debt so I am not in this mess for the rest of my life!

Do you think even though I have claimed on the PPI I am still entitled to claim? If not I would really like to claim the PPI they have been adding since I told them I was unemployed and in difficulties and the very least?

Have made a start this morning by requesting all information from HSBC...fingers crossed!!!

    Thanks again!

Hi again should'nt make any difference if you've put a claim in although some might argue on the suitability that if you claimed it was fit for purpose, don't worry though many have claimed and got misold.

the loan is now under management by metropolitan collection services after defaulting. I am now on a payment plan as I am still unemployed and was wondering if I can attempt to claim any of the PPI or charges back?

If these loans were sold over to MCS,then if you win redress, the redress goes to you,if this is part of the bank and they are used to collect the payments from you, then any redress will go to the debt.

This is good as you are debt free sooner, the 8% you get to you i believe.

With these cards, put a mis sell in (you only need the card numbers and reasons for mis sell),a reason you can use,is what you have said, they should have cancelled this ppi when you asked them to,due to the fact you were struggling to pay the card let alone an insurance on the top.
Also, put a seperate claim in to them for not treating you fairly when you were struggling to pay these cards and ppi was put on,this has caused you to get charges and late payment fees.
As a customer, you feel you should have been listened to and an amicable arrangement made that suited both the bank and you.let them know that you will be sending this complaint into FOS if they do not address these issues and act accordingly.

Just to let you know, any card you had a payout of insurance for will be redressed,if you win,by deducting the claim from the redress, this may leave you at 0 as the claim may have been more than the ppi you paid.

Look here for reasons for mis sell

    And get your claims in.

If you need anymore help, just ask.

Do the complaint about the ppi on the cards you tried to cancel asap, you should have been treated better at a time when you needed them to help you, they did the exact opposite !.

As the account is still active correct me if i'm wrong lorraine/Di but i don't think the 6 year rules apply, so go for it.

You are correct Stevie baby x.

To claim the previous ppi (most only pay to 6 years) you need to send copies of all statements showing ppi.
  • Hello. I'm getting round to filling in my PPI questionaire. My problem is that I originally got the loan out from British Gas. I have some of the paperwork. The credit agreement says that the loan agreement is made between myself and Centrica Personal Finance No.1772586 addressed in Chester. I'm looking them up now and they don't exist however Automobile Association Personal Finance apparently traded under that name previously and are now based in Halifax with the same number (1772586).
Would I be sending my claim to AA in Halifax now? Will they claim they don't know what's going on? Does anyone know of any successful claims against this organisation? "Appointed Representative - Former" is what the FSA say they are. What does this mean?
  • Also, I got the PPI as a lump sum added to the original loan amount (1994.85) Can I expect, if successful, to recieve the interest paid on that amount as well and if so is it my responsibility to work out the amount?
