Hi Kevin. The other loan simply showed the monthly payment. The only difference is that i do not have the opening statement. Do you think the insurers still have the documents as they clearly have the wrong one If you add up all the payments 7 year loan the the total was £34915.44. I am positive the loan was for £30,000. They can see the odd number if they do the calculation.
Was the 30.000 what you borrowed,or was it less than this then they put interest on?.0 -
Hi forum,
I have been sitting going through some paperwork this evening and came across my agreement for a secured loan for £10,500 from Barclays which I took out in December 2007. I noticed that the term of the PPI insurance was only 60 months but that I had to pay the monthly premium for the whole 120 month term of the loan. I spoke to Barclays and was told that the initial PPI amount would be paid back to me in January 2013 and this is for £2571.45. I was not aware that I would be uninsured after the 60 months. Do you think I have a case for a PPI reclaim? Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks in anticipation.0 -

I think over the years I have had quite a few cards from halifax RBS MBNA. If I was to phone them do they have to give a legitimate answer to whether my cards had PPI or not.?0

Hi
Im new to this site. I used the template letter to try and claim PPI on a Mortgage with Alliance & Leicester. I wrote to Santander who didn't reply. I wrote again sending the letter by recorded delivery. I got a reply saying they could not trace any Mortgage related/covered by the Cumsumer Credit Act 1974, and sent my letters back with my £1 cheque, i'm not sure what my next step is. Can anyone please offer advice.0 -
This is how this loan works i am afraid.
Write to FP and put this.
We/I believe we were mis sold the ppi on the above account number, and would like recordings,if any to the contrary of my/our reasons for mis sell set out below.
1)We/I were not told that the ppi was in effect another loan that was added to the original loan and was repayable over the loan term with interest.
2) We/I were told that the ppi was a 5 year policy, but not told the ppi would still be on the loan to term end with interest.
3) We/I were told that if we did not make a claim,or go into arrears on the ppi ,after 5 years we would recive the cashback of ppi but this would not include the interest made on these payments that we paid over the 5 years.
In line with the FOS recommendations it is requested that the overall situation be restored as if PPI had never been included. This will entail:
A refund of the monthly payments that have actually been paid towards the overall loan in excess of those that would have been needed, if the original loan had been sold without the PPI policy.
In addition, interest at the rate of 8% simple per annum to any excess payments made from the time each payment was made to the point that Firstplus pays them back to us. We/i believe we were not given enough information on this ppi to make an informed decision. Had we/i known the full cost of this ppi we would not have taken it.
Unless you can prove without doubt that this PPI policy was fair, reasonable and suitable for my/our circumstances we/I will require you to rearrange the loan as if PPI had never been included on the above loan.
You were mis sold this and this is a win,you will get the total ppi taken off your loan and your monthly payment will reduce by the ppi monthly amount, this will save you thousands in interest over the remaining term, you will also get some cash back to you.
As you have had the ppi back, they will give you 3 options with this mis sell, you need to take the one that resets the loan without ppi, otherwise, you will still be paying this ppi back with interest.
Hi
I've had a letter back from First Plus in response to the above letter I sent them.
They are saying that as the loan and insurance were sold to us by Norton Finance they have forwarded the details of our concerns to them to deal with.
Is this correct? or are they ducking out?
The letter says that this is their Final Response and if I am unhappy then I should contact the FOS.
Do I just wait to hear from Norton Finance or should I send them a letter directly?
I'm a bit confused now

Hi Everyone
I am finally taking the step to try and reclaim my PPI.
I have downloaded my credit history and been though all the loans I want to claim for. I was just wondering whether I will need the full account number when I send my initial letter? On my credit history I only have about the last 4 digits. If so, any ideas how I get this information as I no longer have any of my account details.
Thanks

Hi
I was just wondering if anyone else has had any luck claiming back PPI from MBNA. My partner and I applied for a credit card online about 3 years ago and the PPI was automatically added to the application with no option to remove it.
Also I was wondering if it matters if my partner is self employed? Does anyone know if the PPI is still valid. I have tried to contact MBNA today to find this out and they have advised me that it will take up to 5 working days for someone to call me back to answer my query!
I would really appreciate anyone's advice.
Thanks0
