Hi All,
Thought i'd share some good news !!!!!!!!!
Just after xmas I posted about how to go about claiming PPI from MBNA.
I have now received a letter today saying they are upholding my complaint and are paying out within 28 days.
No questions, no questionnaires. A simple phone call, some security details and roberts your aunties brother. !!!
I urge all MBNA CC holders to do the same !!
Very Happy .......... Thanks Mr Lewis for your website. I would've just plodded on paying for this if it wasn't for this site and some very helpful forum users.0 -
Hi there, I really need some help and advice on where to start or what to do.
I've had a hsbc bank account for about 14 years, I started off taking a small loan out to pay my overdraft off and from there it spiralled, consolidated more times than I can count and had PPI everytime. Having built up lots of charges from living in my overdraft due to redundancy, the loan is now under management by metropolitan collection services after defaulting. I am now on a payment plan as I am still unemployed and was wondering if I can attempt to claim any of the PPI or charges back?
I have 4 credit cards which I am struggling to pay minimum amounts back for each month but my partner helps so that I can manage to live a little. On these credit cards when I got made redundant I made a claim on the PPI having discovered that I had it by ringing them when I couldnt pay. Am I still able to make attempts to claim this back even though I made a claim?
2 of the credit cards are with the same company and since the claim finished they have continued to charge me over limit fees, missed payment fees etc and also added on PPI even though I have told them I am in financial difficulty (which they have acknowledged as they put me on a temporary payment plan-when this expired they told me my normal payments had to resume) They would not cancel the PPI unless i wrote to them, which I did and they seem to have ignored.
I am one very confused lady, desperate to stop living off my partner and get out of all this bad debt!
Any advice, encouragement or guidance would be amazing-I really want to deal with this head on!0 -
Hi I am about to send SAR letters out for cc PPI possible claims but one is for Natwest and another for Mint. Both now owned by RBS so do I send to them one each or will one to RBS suffice? The other is to Goldfish who passed it to Morgan Stanley who passed it to Barclaycard! Do I send this to Barclaycard? Thanks in advance for any answers???0

My dad has had lloyds tsb credit card for last 12 years, it is still active but has prob only been used one or twice in last 6 years, but the 6 years prior to that he was always quite near his limit of £15,000 at times, and paying PPI which he believed was compulsory, even although he got full pay if absent from work, and it contributed to financial problems he encountered at that time. PPI is still on the account but haven't really been any charges last 6 years because he's not been using card. Question is can he claim back any of the thousands he paid in the 6 years prior???0

thanks again cappo, I am just worried that they will keep saying the same thing. Are there any other avenues to explore ?.0

Hi ian it's a game of blind mans bluff with the banks at the moment put a complaint in but as martin says expect it to be rejected then basically you've got two choices mcol (money court online) or the fos, out of the two as you've not got an uphold yet i'd personally go with the fos although unfortunately the wait is horrendous, for a quicker result you could go mcol but that is a lot more uncertain. see link below

As the account is still active correct me if i'm wrong lorraine/Di but i don't think the 6 year rules apply, so go for it.0
