Have looked everywhere for a draft copy of the first letter to send but to no avail, does anyone have anything suitable please.
On another tangent if you have received a payout the interest part is taxable - is that right? Is this automatically taken by the bank or do you have to contact HMRC directly. Thanks in advance.

Hi do you mean a letter to make a reclaim?

There is no template letter on here any more and it was changed to a reclaim questionnaire some time ago, these were issued by the FOS, so if you were to make a complaint to them, you keep a copy and send to them later on.

This you will find on step 3 of reclaiming, but please accept my apologies if I have read into this incorrectly.
    Good luck.;)

In regard of the tax matter, some are taken off automatically where others are not, but they will confirm this to you by letter once resolved.

  • After taking and reading the great advice given here I've decided to try a reclaim for mis-sold PPI going back years without any paperwork! I'm not sure if there is a standard timescale for a response to my complaint or is every bank different (mine is NatWest) At what stage do I contact the FOS? Again thank you for all the advuce and guidance on here, my partner has just won a reclaim but used a CHC and has to pay 20% - his is with LTSB and should have been paid into his account £9k plus - so there is hope!!!!
  • Hi all, just hoping for some advice. Me n hubby took out a First PLus loan in Nov 2006, PPI was taken out on the basis that it would increase our chances and were also told that if I didnt claim then I would get all the premims back at the end so I may as well take it out anyway. The PPI was loaded to the start of the loan and was £5571 on a £28k loan that we were consolidating. WE paid off the loan in full, including the PPI when we sold our house in 2007. If I try and claim this back do I consider the interest til now or just for the period of the loan considering we paid it early. Oh, also reading through the paperwork they would never have paid out anyway as I was only a Temporary Worker at the time, I wasnt even on a contract.

Any advice would be great. Thanks :-)
Hoping 2015 will be a better year :)

Natwest /RBS sold fraudulent policies and there is no timescale on fraud. As long as you had a PPI with them, you will be able to claim. Shame your partner went to a CHC, if Lloyds (as they do) are lagging behind with payment, chase up the CHC
