Hi there
I wondered whether anyone can give me any advice regarding the mis-selling of PPI on a Hire Purchase Agreement for a new car. The Dealership was Ford Dagenham Motors, the finance arranged through Ford Credit, and PPI underwritten by Norwich Union.
I have sent a letter of complaint to the dealership, hoping that this is, my first port of call, but just need some clarification as to what the next step should be.
I purchased the car in September 2005 and paid it off in December 2010. I did not even know that I had the PPI, even thou I signed for it, I thought it was a signature required for the Hire Purchase Agreement, hence so annoyed that PPI was not even discussed with me when I bought the car.
Any advice from anyo9ne would be truly appreciated.

Hi and welcome
See the checklist, if you can answer no to any of the questions, you have grounds for reclaiming mis-sold insurance
*Did YOUR LENDER explain the full cost of the PPI when you took out the loan?
*Did you specifically ask YOUR LENDER for PPI?
*Did YOUR LENDER make clear that PPI was optional?
*Did YOUR LENDER ask you about your medical history?
*Did YOUR LENDER ask you about any existing payment cover?
*Did you know that YOUR LENDER added a PPI policy to your loan?
*Do you think YOUR LENDER treated you fairly?
*Did YOUR LENDER ask if you have any existing medical conditions?
*Did YOUR LENDER ask if you were entitled to sick pay from your employer?0 -

Hi,
I have received my credit report and there is a lot of items on there, I would like to write to all of the companies to get my terms and conditions from them as I am almost certain that I was missold PPI at some point, Nationwide, Capital one and sainsburys are all in my list and I am sure I have had PPI with them all. However, there are no account numbers on my credit report? Can I still write to them with the template letter without account numbers? Is there anything else I can include? All other information is there but surely without an account number this is going to make it more difficult?
regards

Hi I sent the questionnaires off with no account numbers on so it is possible, otherwise I think you can send an SAR letter with a £10 fee to the company for them to send you all the information you need, account nos, any ppi payments you made, figures & dates etc.Member & fundraiser for Meningitis Research Foundation0 -
Hi,
thanks for that, with relation to the questionairre. If I send that off with the original template letter (the one where I have to request a copy of the Ts&Cs for £1) that will be enough for them to go on and find my information? I am reluctant to do the £10 thing as with the amount of loans etc I have had it could cost about £100 which I dont have right now and I dont know how many (if any) have had PPI so could end up potentially £100 out of pocket. So if the questionairre and the letter will get the ball rolling I will start with that for now0 -

can anyone out there recommend a company that can act in my best interests for reclaiming PPI on several loans, CC`s mortgage etc as the task of tackling all of these on a collective front is daunting. Also the info I have I have is limited so I need all the professional help I can get.
Thanks

The general advice is to 'steer clear' from claims management companies. They use the exact same process as anybody else that does it single handed on the forum but charge extortionate fees for doing so. It only cost you a stamp and all the info you need plus the help of talking to others and asking questions is all here for you, theres nothing to be afraid of at all, its just a long winded process due to the banks own delays! :-)
