Im at week 15 and 3 days waiting to hear from Black Horse regarding mis selling ppi,
I put in 5 claims August time, and to be fair have heard about one and this has been settled , (posted about this in the forum , ) im not sure how it all works regarding the other 4... for example ...do they have to inform me either way?, or should i prepare to go to FOS?
i would welcome any advice

I am thinking about making a claim against First Direct for a credit card I have had with them since Sept 2004, I really do not remember actually agreeing to take out PPI and assume as I applied for the credit card online that the website must have pre-ticked the box to accept PPI - does anyone know if this was the case?
I always thought PPI was compulsory with the credit card until I found about PPI mis-selling so I cancelled the policy in approx May 2011.
The card is now closed so surprise surprise when I wrote to FD using a T&C letter they refused to give me anymore information so am now going to follow up with a SAR letter
Can anyone advise if I did not realise that PPI was optional and did not actively opt in to taking PPI do you think I have a case to reclaim the PPI paid (could be quite a significant sum!)
Thanks
hi mike yes you have a very good case.:)0 -

Had a nice surprise at the weekend. I claimed for missold PPI on my Egg card at the start of the year, using the forms from here, and was refunded around £900. On Saturday I got a letter from Barclaycard (who have bough Egg as you all know) saying that they had previously only been refunding any payments, interest and charges within the last 6 years but have reviewed my complaint and decided to refund everything since the inception of the account plus 8% interest. They enclosed a cheque for £513 which I was not expecting at all.0

Hey all,
First time on this site, I sent a PPI form to HSBC in mid August, apparently you should hear in 16 weeks. its now the 16th week and no update.
perhaps could get something in the post today or tomorrow, will wait to see.
Has anyone had a similar experience with HSBC?
Also my original loan was for £5000, i ended up paying total of £7500 due to PPI and interest. With that in mind does anyone have any idea what sort of figure could be paid if upheld?
Thanks

AMAZING ... Another bank forced to cough up and say sorry ??
DOES THIS NEVER END WITH THESE CROOKS ?

Hi,
I've took a 5k loan from HSBC in 2010 however I don't remember whether I was sold PPI or not. I have no paperwork anymore and I've found the date of the loan from my bank statement (I'm not sure is it correct but I guess they can find out the correct day). I've sent initial request to the branch in which I've took the loan on 17th of November but haven't get anything back. I'm not sure how to proceed, send same letter again + £1 but do signed for (I' should probably do that in first place) ?
Also what are my rights here ? I did took the loan, and I do know it happened sometime in March 2010 but it was paid off same year and as I've stated above I sadly have no paperwork.Regards,

MBNA are well famous for this, they only sent out a copy of the PPI after a claim WAS FILED. The inurance was underwritten by St Andrews a company owned by LTSB and is FRAUDULENT as it was designed never to pay out.
HERE IS YOUR CHECK LIST
*Did YOUR BANK explain the full cost of the PPI when you took out the loan?
*Did you specifically ask YOUR BANK for PPI?
*Did YOUR BANK make clear that PPI was optional?
*Did YOUR BANK ask you about your medical history?
*Did YOUR BANK ask you about any existing payment cover?
*Did you know that YOUR BANK added a PPI policy to your loan?
*Do you think YOUR BANK treated you fairly?
*Did YOUR BANK ask if you have any existing medical conditions?
*Did YOUR BANK ask if you were entitled to sick pay from your employer?
If you answered no to any one of the above you could be owed thousands of pounds
GO FOR IT, CLAIM EVERYTHING BACK FROM MBNA
Hi Beamerguy, thanks for the response.
Can you give me any more information about how the MBNA PPI was found to be fraudulent/not pay out? I want the reason I put for claiming to be as strong as possible from the start, and since I did tick the PPI box on the application form all I've really got so far is the lack of information about the policy, and maybe their failure to assess my suitability for the cover.
What, would you say, would be my most convincing argument for mis-selling in my case?
Cheers!0
