    Hello,

I'm not sure if I'm in the right place and my apologies if I'm not. I was a little confused about how to start a new post. I am trying to see if I was charged PPI from around 7 or 8 different companies over the last 8 years. I have had several different insurance, loan and credit polices over the years. I wrote to all the companies with the letter template on here and included the standard £1 cheque. However, for the bulk of the companies I didn't have my account number. 2 of the companies have written back to me returning my cheque saying my account is now closed and they are not required to give me my credit agreement. The 2 companies are DFS and Studio catalogue. I believe it's possible they may have mis-sold me PPI and I'm a little suspicious now as to why they won't give me my credit agreement. I noticed on the information site that you can send a cheque for £10 to get your full history and credit agreement with a company. Does anyone have a letter template I can send to do this? Has anyone been mis-sold PPI with DFS or Studio around 2003/2004?

    Thanks and regards.

    Faye

Here you go faye sorry i can't help you with successes with dfs or studio though, good luck.

It is an amount of money with interest on, that you pay back over the loan term,Some are stand alone ppi that you pay for each month alongside the loan.

The loans we have had have got different purposes in sections, purpose 123, 3 is PPI and then underneath it says the interest . Underneath that it tells how much is paid per month and how long for, does that make them not front loaded?? Thanks again .
Oh my complaint forms are ready to go, after I photocopy them all. Should I send them all in one big envelope or all separate?. When I sent SAR I sent it to YB at Leeds but reply came from clydesdale at Glasgow, where should I send the forms to, thankyou again for the help.

My hubby has a claim in with Barclays at the moment from a 1992 loan, first they sent a letter saying they couldnt locate it so I sent them a copy of the loan agreement. We phoned for an update last week, as there 16 weeks is up tomorrow he quoted all ref numbers from their letters to be told that they couldn't identify him so they couldn't talk to him!!
    I will keep you posted

I had similar to this, then I kicked off in an email to the CEO, found me then didn't they???? Did get an apology and a promise that they would deal with my complaint, don't let them get away with it.........stand firm bullies normally back down when confronted!!!:rotfl:
IF HIND SIGHT WAS FORESIGHT WOULD I STILL NEED TO GO TO THE OPTICIANS???
  • seeking advice please, had a number of loans with Lloydstsb, and have received offers on 2 of the loans, and on the others told by them that "having checked relevant client systems that they have been unable to trace any payment protection insurance and as such can take the complaint any further". What does this wording actually mean, as I paid the old loans off by refinancing with a new loan. and if I was to refuse these settlement offers Would I lose these payments if I was to contact F.O.S
    many thanks

Hiya Capp, still having probs with the cretins from LTSB ???

It's all because they are running out of money, LTSB are seriously the worse bank around now. They really cannot expect people to ever deal with them again, so stupid but, they are a headless chicken right now with Osorio gone, Tim Hookey ... sorry meant to say TOOKEY, leaving in Feb, the shareholders trying to reclaim money from the previous CEO, it really is a huge joke.

Bring back the "cat of nine tails" and whoop these idiots into action.

We all know that Osorio will never return, who can blame him. LTSB are a "mickey mouse" bank now with no credibility left

  • Hi

I am thinking about making a claim against First Direct for a credit card I have had with them since Sept 2004, I really do not remember actually agreeing to take out PPI and assume as I applied for the credit card online that the website must have pre-ticked the box to accept PPI - does anyone know if this was the case?

I always thought PPI was compulsory with the credit card until I found about PPI mis-selling so I cancelled the policy in approx May 2011.

The card is now closed so surprise surprise when I wrote to FD using a T&C letter they refused to give me anymore information so am now going to follow up with a SAR letter

Can anyone advise if I did not realise that PPI was optional and did not actively opt in to taking PPI do you think I have a case to reclaim the PPI paid (could be quite a significant sum!)

    Thanks

Hi and welcome, they cannot refuse your SAR.

    YOUR CHECKLIST TO FOLLOW

*Did YOUR BANK explain the full cost of the PPI when you took out the loan?
*Did you specifically ask YOUR BANK for PPI?
*Did YOUR BANK make clear that PPI was optional?
*Did YOUR BANK ask you about your medical history?
*Did YOUR BANK ask you about any existing payment cover?
*Did you know that YOUR BANK added a PPI policy to your loan?
*Do you think YOUR BANK treated you fairly?
*Did YOUR BANK ask if you have any existing medical conditions?
*Did YOUR BANK ask if you were entitled to sick pay from your employer?

If you answered no to any one of the above you could be owed thousands of pounds
