    Hi all

Im new to this site so just trying to find my way about it. I dont have my original ppwk from when I opened my credit cards and loan so Ive filled out the templates to send off to the creditors to ask for this.

However, I have recently got a letter from my M&S credit card stating that the 'Free PPI' they offer is changing hands to Aviva but is still 'free'. Can they provide such a thing as Free PPI or am I most likely paying for it anyway?

Also, I have checked my credit report on Experian and see that 2 of my creditors have defaults against my file, one being Tesco Loan and the other Capital One Credit Card. Last year I entered into a reduced payment plan which both parties agreed to but yet I still have defaults against my file making my score very low. I phoned Experian about this and they advised that my file shouldnt have default on it and it should be set as agreement, they told meto write to both creditors and explain this which I have done a couple of days ago so just waiting their reply. Just wondering if anyone has any experience in this area? I have still been paying them each month, but the payment was reduced as I was struggling last year. I now have Capital One paid off and the account closed but they still dont have my file noted as settled.

    Thanks,

    Linz

    Hi and welcome.

I would ask "how is this free?" and ask them to provide you with statements where its showing as free PPI.

Yes definately write to them, I would tell them you have literally spoken to Experian and they confirmed there are no default and it shouldn't be there, and that you were told that there should be an agreement in place.

I am not sure of anyone else who have experienced this, but maybe they will post up in due course otherwise.

    Good luck on your reclaiming.;)

    Hi again folks :)

I posted last week about progress on my claim - RBS had been in touch to ask for more information just as the 8 weeks was about to run out. I sent the information off to them on Thursday or Friday and was surprised to get their response this morning!

The letter basically pointed out that I had no case etc etc, which I was expecting; what I wasn't expecting was a 'goodwill gesture' of £750. So, do I take the safe money now OR press on with the next stage? I think i'm leaning towards the latter at the moment but wondered what you guys would make of it :)

Thats very nice of them but if you get turned down on your initial claim you can take it to the financial ombesman(??) who will reopen most cases and be sure to get what your worth. Sounds like they are trying to fob you off. I was told I could have £430 from Lloyds. I called and gave them a mouth full saying that the example letter they sent me said Id have near enough £4000. The guy on the phone basically said no one gets that amount thats why its an example, i told him what I thought of that only to receive a letter a week later saying I would be getting £3717! Its worth pushing and persuing!! Hope this helps!

Just received 5500 pounds from Lloyds from my loans, just waiting for cheque!! Can I not request it to go direct into my Lloyds account???
  • Hi I wander if anyone can give me some advice.
My 72 year old Dad Used Ismart to put through his Barclays Claim.
Barclays came back with an offer of £500. He was advised by ismart not to sign form accepting Compensation as they felt they could get more for him this occured in Sept 11. He is now recieving calls from ismart stating he owes them £150 for their fees in completion of Claim.
He had the direct number for the operator he was dealing with only to be told person had left and they did not have any records of his claim, considering that he recieved the call 5 minutes before stating he owed them money.
I wrote a letter on his behalf to complain, stating as nothing was signed he did not owe anything as he has not recieved any Compensation.
Dad recieved a call today from an operator demanding payment of their fees or they will take him to court.
My agruement is that nothing has been signed unless they have been fraudulent in signing his name.
    Can anyone help.
    Thanks

Apparently it's all being dealt with by a third party now, and we'll be paid by BACS (so straight to our accounts). I am awaiting a letter from Andrea Barry to confirm this, which I should recieve tomorrow.

Either myself or another MSE'r will update this topic with any relevent info as and when we get it.

Well done on your win by the way! :D:j:beer:

    Fab news!:T Congratulations!

Did they give you a timescale of when you should be receiving your cheque?

You could ask about having it paid into your account, no harm in doing so, good luck. x

Aww bless you and your dad too, none of you need this!

I would maybe contact the Claims Regulation who will know the best here, and see what they say, as these are in control of the claims companies.
    Details below.
    http://www.justice.gov.uk/global/contacts/claims-management-regulation/index.htm

Good luck with this, please let us know how you get on, cheers x
