  • Hi All
Just been looking through old paperwork and come across a loan from Mercantile credit that hubby took out in September 1995 £1,000 loan interest at 24.9% Interest plus PPI £152.40 so total £1,402.80 paid back by 24 instalments at £58.45
Hubby seems to think that because this is such a small amount its not worth claiming back.
Can anyone of here give me a rough guestimate? at what it would pay back, to help me convince him its worth it
    Thanks
    Lisa
  • Clearing out is so therapeutic I found some more paperwork from a 1992 TSB loan with PPI 3,100 from when my husband was with his previous wife, luckily loan only in his name but also found print out from TSB to say that this is loan number 3, and part of new loan being used to consolidate another loan although I have no details what so ever of these other loans, would you suggest a SAR or just put in a claim for the loan I have details off and see if TSB do what they should and look at other loans on the same account?
Any advice gratefully received as always
    Thanks

    Hi Lisa

If your hubby emailed them with the details he does have, ask them if they any data on these at all?

Even if they say no, the least it should be is the standard offer of about £1,200 on each loan, that is the offer that they been offering customers if they're unable to locate paperwork from years ago, but at least you have some details, do give it go anyway.:j;)

  • Hi people

Im trying to reclaim PPI for my mum and dad but im not sure were to start.

Now theyve had a good few loans from the same bank over the years and all the accounts are still open and also they have a good couple of credit cards aswell.

Can someone with experience help me out and give me advice on were to start plz?

Very unsure what to do and the money if they are due it would come in very handy

Any help would be very much appreciated - they were going to go down the route of someone else re-claiming it for them but they were wanting a crazy percentage for doing this - I said I would try and sort it so any help could someone tell me the steps/process on what to do.

    Thanks in advance :)

    Hi all

Im new to this site so just trying to find my way about it. I dont have my original ppwk from when I opened my credit cards and loan so Ive filled out the templates to send off to the creditors to ask for this.

However, I have recently got a letter from my M&S credit card stating that the 'Free PPI' they offer is changing hands to Aviva but is still 'free'. Can they provide such a thing as Free PPI or am I most likely paying for it anyway?

Also, I have checked my credit report on Experian and see that 2 of my creditors have defaults against my file, one being Tesco Loan and the other Capital One Credit Card. Last year I entered into a reduced payment plan which both parties agreed to but yet I still have defaults against my file making my score very low. I phoned Experian about this and they advised that my file shouldnt have default on it and it should be set as agreement, they told meto write to both creditors and explain this which I have done a couple of days ago so just waiting their reply. Just wondering if anyone has any experience in this area? I have still been paying them each month, but the payment was reduced as I was struggling last year. I now have Capital One paid off and the account closed but they still dont have my file noted as settled.

    Thanks,

    Linz

I am doing the claims and have just done a SAR but its so difficult when he has had other owners! (wives lol) trying to get the info from him about the loans. I only found these loan agreements in his divorce paperwork from 1995 :D
    Worth a try

  • Hi All,

I'm new to this so am after some help please!!

I have recently found out that a loan I took out with Egg in 2004 (and repaid 1 year later in 2005) also included PPI. I don't currently have any of the paperwork, but from reading the site I'm thinking I could get hold of it? I spoke to the company a couple of days ago and they do still have all the details of my loan....

Am I too late to try and reclaim this do you think??

    Thanks in advance x

No you can put in a claim, if you think that you were miss sold. I have submitted claims from 1992 and just received an offer from a loan from 2001.
    Good luck

    Hi and welcome

Right, if mis sold the PPI for any reasons, as there are many of them :D that may apply to your mum and dad
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#ways you complete a reclaim questionnaire as on step 3 below:

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#step3

If mis sold for the same reasons, you can keep to the same form for the loans if the same bank but do separate questionnaires for the credit card ppi, but if again if mis sold for the same reasons, you can keep to the same questionnaire.

So - Questionnaire for all loans PPI
    - Questionnaire for all credit card PPI.

Just remember to include all account numbers that apply.
The Insurance number will be the same as the loan account numbers and the same with Credit cards.

Save copies in case you need to refer to them at some point.

May I ask what bank this is? cheers so muchly.;)

    Good luck x
