    Thanks for your swift reply
To be honest not sure quite how i go about this,i have the addresses for most of the card companies apart from capital one but no account numbers,do i just write to them asking for any information they hold on me.

    Hi there

Companies should hold data for at least the last 6 years, where some will hold data even longer.

There are a few ways you can do this, you can try the free way first, but either contacting the company direct by giving them as many details as possible, by ringing or writing but they may then just request that you do a SAR.
So if you do SAR them, give them as many of your details as you can in order for them to track down your data, full name, date of birth, any addresses lived in at the time of having the accounts etc.
Give these details at the bottom of the SAR letter template below.
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1475553

If you had a few accounts with the same business, they should send all data on one SAR request. You pay a one off £10 cheque or postal order payment, and they have 40 calendar days to comply.

If any of them are banks/local businesses you could call into the the branch and they will check the filing system on all accounts you taken out with them.

Another way is a Credit Report, some will offer them free or a full credit report will cost £2, they again will hold data going back to at least the last 6 years, google in Experian or Equifax, more details on those sites.

The account numbers if credit card should be shown on monthly statements, and it should also be the same account number on the cards if you still have these.

For loan ppi, if you bank online and still with the same bank, the loan account number should be shown next to the loan monthly repayment, and online should allow you to go back to about 2002.
Even if the accounts were settled within the last 6 years, data on them should still be held.

In regards of Cap One Address if you do not have this, to make sure you get this right first time, as there seem to be many different ones for these, unless someone comes along with the address for you soon, you could contact the FOS who would have had dealings with them when others have made complaints, give these a ring.

    Try any of the above.
    Hope this helps, good luck.;)

Thankyou for the advice, will pursue this asap
one more question if i may,as previously mentioned ive been succesfull in reclaiming the ppi on a natwest loan(just waiting the payout). But i also have a credit card with them dating back from 2005 average balance of 2000 pound which i applied for over the internet, although i cancelled the ppi on this last year. And to be honest i do remember ticking the ppi box on the application as i thought this would enhance my chances of acceptance,do u think it would be worth pursueing a reclaim on this or do i just put it down to stupidity on my part.:(

    Hi

It looks like complaints are dealt with by HFC now, like mine was Endeavour Personal Finance (EPF) and like Beneficial linked to HFC.

    http://www.beneficialfinance.co.uk/

If you click on the above link, it should take you into the HFC websbite, more details of this below.

    HFC Bank Limited,
    PO Box 5207,
    Coventry,
    CV3 9FB

    Details of how to complain.

    http://www.hfcbank.co.uk/html/payment_insurance.html

I assume you can request for a SAR at the above address, they will forward to their relevant data dept, but post by recorded delivery.

Santander deal with the store card complaints.
    http://www.santander.co.uk/csgs/Satellite?appID=abbey.internet.Abbeycom&c=Page&canal=CABBEYCOM&cid=1210607166846&empr=Abbeycom&leng=en_GB&pagename=Abbeycom%2FPage%2FWC_ACOM_TemplateA2

When you complaint, make them aware the complaint is about Burtons store card.

Hope this info helps, good luck.:)
    A BIG THANK YOU
This has been a big help to us to start our Endevour claim, Cahoot loan and storecards. Just Lloyds Halifax and Citi to go.
    Thanks again

    Dear All,

I have been following your advise and have sent off 4 SAR's letters along with 4 x £10.00 cheques, so far the following has happened:

London Scottish - no cheques cashed wrote to me to say they would oblige with the information requested which they have now provided :), there is loads of PPI on there, where can I find the template letters to start the reclaim?

Advantage Finance - nothing no cheque cashed.

Capital One - Nothing Cheque Cashed

    Vanquis - Nothing cheque cashed

They still have a few days to respond though, what should I do if they dont respond?
  • I sent back my complaint form in June and I havent heard anything today been the 23/10/11.
should have I heard something or will my forms be sat in a big pile of other paper work I havent even had any corrispondance

Your very welcome, and sorry for my delay in getting back to you.

You could give it a go and tell them you assumed it was all part of the package, because you did not know otherwise.
No harm in trying, good luck.:)

    Hi there

They have 40 calendar days, so mark the calendar ready, if say a week before they have not sent anything, because sometimes they will send earlier than the 40 days, then chase them up with a call, however sometimes they do not cash the cheque until last going off, good luck.;)

However, you can still continue to make a reclaim if you want to, if you still have the account numbers that an help, many have still been successful without having the paperwork, as long as you know you were sold and mis sold the ppi.

    Hope this helps x
