PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Hi everyone
Hope your well, not been on much today, been sorting some issues out, unfortunately my son got pulled over for going over the speed limit driving last night by the Thames Valley Police , his very first offence, he got lost and it was 2am in the morning, but luckily getting away with attending a safety awareness course which he has to pay £85 for, and I know he's my son, but quite right too!
There is no excuse for speeding, I am so so gutted, after his achievement a few weeks ago of being promoted and he got off lightly, so now just waiting for the letter to arrive to book up the course.
It would have been otherwise 3 points on his licence and a fine.
I hope he and others will learn from this, speeding is a NO NO, naughty boy!:(
We live in South Wales and he was dropping his girlfriend back home to her lodgings not far away from her uni, so miles and miles away!
He had already dropped her off, and on the way back was a diversion which was why he got lost, SAT NAV stopped worked.............Typical!!
Oh poor lad...:o nothing worse than getting lost..and in the dark too...:o think i would of not been taking any notice of my speedometer either.. oh bless..still a lesson learnt..he wont be speeding again...hopefully:D glad he is ok though :)xx

Oh thank you so much Di, i have just posted on the site via email so hopefully someone will get back to me, however, i did mention "accepting liability for mis-selling of ppi" so i wont hold my breath!! hahaha.
Looks like i am going to have the same fight as you - HFC denying liability - i wrote this ain an email i sent to them last night and have got a reply back from a Emma Johnstone stating that it is definatly not their problem as EPF were not the brokers bit they are happy to send all documentation they have within 10 working days.
I am wondering if i should just send it to the FOS or just wait and see? What do you think ?:o xx
Your welcome honey.
See what comes back within 10 days, that is where they were caught out with mine, when they forwarded me a copy of the broker application form, I had proof that no ppi was added on the broker application form.
It may also be the case for you, any probs, then yes contact the FOS xx:);)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

I was so so upset when he rang me early hours and so shocked, he said the annoying thing was, as it was very quiet because it was so late, not many cars were on the road, but when he stepped out to sit in the officers car, there were a few cars speeding then as well, he admitted doing 88mph on a 70 mph zone, and some were doing even more, but he was there at the wrong place at the wrong time, still as said, lesson learnt we hope, and i do believe these things happen for a reason.;) to be taught a lesson (by getting stopped i mean). x
Cheers babe xxx;):)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Exactly, it's sods law that he was in the wrong place, typical that there were others speeding but never get pulled up !:(
Never mind poor lad, at least nothing untoward happened as it can be very dangerous getting lost in a strange place these days, glad he is ok...:):) xx

My husband wasn't successful in reclaiming from Intelligent Finance, he received a waffly letter giving no specific reason why. I wrote back to them and asked them to reconsider as he is a self employed business owner who would continue to pay himself if sick etc and asked for the reasons of why it wasn't upheld.
This letter was ignored so he rang them and they reopened the complaint, then 2 days later he received a letter saying refer to previous letter complaint closed...
Now I want to write to someone higher within the company to get this looked at properly.
Who do I write to? It seems intelligent finance is part of Bank of Scotland which is part of Lloyds group formerly part of Halifax.
I saw earlier in the thread the contact name and address for head of PPI for BOS is the correct person. I've saved this info somewhere!
Thank you

Oh i do hope so...it is such a let down isn't it...i read somewhere on another thread by maggpiecottage that the underwriters cant/wont accept liability as they dont sell the product..they just provide it - which makes sense, however, it doesnt make it fair - we have been paying the same money under the same circumstances, however because it was before 2005 - the robbers get away with it
:(
forgive my twining....how are you cappo?xx
Alright sunny did you have a good weekend?0 -

Off TOPIC but I lived In malaysia for 5 years and the rule of thumb for speeding was to go to the back of the car with the cop, flash a few notes, 20 ringitt ($20) about £5, get a hand shake and that was it. I was caught doing 100mph on a toll motorway, cost me £10
The cops earn more this way than taking you down to the station as they will lose money if not on the road.0 -
