RBS investment arm cancels Christmas parties
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-15315120

Royal Bank of Scotland is cutting back on perks for its investment bankers.

The division's chief financial officer, Chris Kyle, has sent an internal memo telling staff the firm will not subsidise Christmas parties and other end-of-year entertainment.

In addition, it says no-one will be given new Blackberry phones, headsets or other telecoms equipment.

The RBS unit is also refusing to pay for any new magazine or newspaper subscriptions.

People working late have been told the bank will not pay for taxis to take them home until 10pm, an hour later than had previously been the case.

Staff are also reminded that all travel lasting less than four hours must be in economy class, without exception.

Cutbacks are also being made within the business.

OH NO, NOT A BAN ON BLACKBERRY'S ... How will we keep in contact ?:rotfl::rotfl::T

A bank manager in "pleb" class. ABOUT TIME TOO !!!:rotfl::rotfl:

Chris Kyle, you totally forgot to mention about the big bonus scam, was that on purpose or a slip of the mind ?

Hi guys.... Congratulations to all winners today... ;-)

I came home to 2 x letters from the FOS to state that they are unable to go ahead with my Dorothy Perkins card & hubby's GE Money as they were both before 2005! :-( However, they have written to the underwriters and asked them to look in to this..if there is no response in 8 weeks or we are not happy with the final decision, then we can complain to the FOS again???

I know its been a long day, but why cant the FOS just carry on with the complaints rather than us waiting to see if the underwriter will accept liability or not & then have to start the complaint from scratch again? xx

Hi sunny this is what the fos have did with me they've just contacted LTSB and asked them to investigate mine as well, i think it's routine, thats the way they sometimes start a complaint, it'll get sorted lovely.

Oh i do hope so...it is such a let down isn't it...i read somewhere on another thread by maggpiecottage that the underwriters cant/wont accept liability as they dont sell the product..they just provide it - which makes sense, however, it doesnt make it fair - we have been paying the same money under the same circumstances, however because it was before 2005 - the robbers get away with it :(:(

forgive my twining....how are you cappo? :) xx

    Hi everyone

Hope your well, not been on much today, been sorting some issues out, unfortunately my son got pulled over for going over the speed limit driving last night by the Thames Valley Police , his very first offence, he got lost and it was 2am in the morning, but luckily getting away with attending a safety awareness course which he has to pay £85 for, and I know he's my son, but quite right too!

There is no excuse for speeding, I am so so gutted, after his achievement a few weeks ago of being promoted and he got off lightly, so now just waiting for the letter to arrive to book up the course.

It would have been otherwise 3 points on his licence and a fine.

I hope he and others will learn from this, speeding is a NO NO, naughty boy!:(

We live in South Wales and he was dropping his girlfriend back home to her lodgings not far away from her uni, so miles and miles away!
He had already dropped her off, and on the way back was a diversion which was why he got lost, SAT NAV stopped worked.............Typical!!

    Hi Sunny

I have found some details below of Norton hope its the correct one, and its an email form, I will add this anyway and ask a friend I know who posted on this site not long ago who have dealt with these, and ask if she has the direct email addy for you ok honey x;)x

    http://www.nortonfinance.co.uk/contact_us

Oh thank you so much Di, i have just posted on the site via email so hopefully someone will get back to me, however, i did mention "accepting liability for mis-selling of ppi" so i wont hold my breath!! hahaha.

Looks like i am going to have the same fight as you - HFC denying liability - i wrote this ain an email i sent to them last night and have got a reply back from a Emma Johnstone stating that it is definatly not their problem as EPF were not the brokers bit they are happy to send all documentation they have within 10 working days.
I am wondering if i should just send it to the FOS or just wait and see? What do you think ? :o:o xx
