PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Thanks for that. Would my PPI have been provided by welcome or by another company?
Hi Dan, whoever sold you the policy from the start are the ones responsible for selling you the ppi as well.
Can you recall on who went through the loan application with you?
For example if Welcome Finance, then its them you pursue (through the FSCS).
The lender are the ones who debit your money every month, so the FSCS will need details of all from what I can recall, so in case you require further paperwork.;)
So basically its the lender who debits your account you owe money too, even though its Welcome Finance responsible, the FSCS just have to be aware that's all.The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi
Yes Welcome phoned me and went over everything for me in July 07. I paid the loan along with the ppi for about 12 months. I then wrote to welcome saying that believe i was mis-sold the ppi and i didnt want it anymore. They wrote back saying they hadnt but if i wasnt happy i could stop paying the ppi and they sent me out new loan paperwork basically lower repayments over a longer term without ppi. I am still paying off the loan with welcome but its on the second loan agreement without the ppi. The 1st loan agreement is closed down and thats the ppi i am trying to claim. Hope you get all that. So do i still answer yes0 -
If i answer yes am i right in thinking that any money that will be paid to me either ppi refund or any sat compensation will go to Welcome against what i still owe them0

Sorry for the delay in responding Dan.
You are correct in pursuing Welcome Finance then and if that loan is no longer active, then yes it should come back to you in my opinion.
If its said that the ppi must be refunded towards the current loan, maybe you could argue that as its a separate loan to the 2nd loan, you believe the money should come back to you, as you are paying for current loan without ppi anyway and not making a complaint on the current loan.
I would therefore make them aware that "Yes" you are still paying the business for a loan, but not the loan that you have made a complaint about.
Hope that helps. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Thanks you have made my Friday night feel much better. I was starting to feel sick about it all. ItThis whole business consumes every waking hour.

Sometimes we British are too polite! I have taken the route of contacting the CEO and Board Members, telling them in no uncertain terms that I will not be fobbed off until I get what is due.
Some CEO's see this as disappointing when a customer has to go through all of this to get to them. They get annoyed and will help more. Some, in the banking sector for example, seem to think they are immune and forget who they serve.
Make their lives uncomfortable and as I have done, contact your MP and raise the profile. Also contact Watchdog. Remember, you just want what is owed.0 -
