So, its on your hubby's account to which the loan has been repaid so they can only send a cheque.

    YOUR JOB NOW:
On a daily basis contact them for the payment, if need be go to the CEO, THE MORE PRESSURE YOU APPLY, THE QUICKER YOUR CHEQUE WILL ARRIVE

well i was considering emailing the ceo but then i thought that might antognise them and put me to the bottom of the pile. surely if i am just ringing their call centre each day they wont change tactics and pay up. i thought they would just log it each time. when i asked this morning about the 8 week timescale for payment (from receiving acceptance) i was told there are no FSA timescales and they can pay when they want. However I will now make it my mission to ring them at 8am every morning from Monday. I usually get through within about 3 minutes.

    Arg!

So I sent the request as above, but they replied stating without the account reference they couldn't do anything.

Luckily I still have bank statements since 2004, so after some rummaging I found one with my DD payment to ALPF (Allience & Leicester) with a reference number.

Photocopied and sent this information to them, thinking all would be well, then they have replied saying they can't find any record of it.

So I have proof and a reference that I was paying off a loan to an A&L subsidiary in 2006, but Santander (now owners of A&L) can't find any record of it.

Is this a breach of DPA laws?

How can I get this sorted without a copy of the credit agreement?

    Help! :(

    Amazing!

Quick call to the Ombudsman, and 3 weeks later I have Santander offering me a £1,200 settlement, what a great start to the weekend!

Thanks for the advice all, and good luck to all those still working through it all :D

I understand that, but look, on this forum are real genuine people who are suffering / or have suffered and are available to help, it is a real forum with others just like you.

Follow what we say and you will succeed, my advice is give your bank pressure like never before, it will NOT have any reflection on you or your complaint, more so they will want to get you off their backs ASAP

Don't they deserve a return of harrassment that they deal out themselves, of course they do !!!!

HIT THEM HARD they cannot hurt you
