No email I'm afraid
Hi everyone,
We got a knock back from Intelligent Finance in September the letter seemed standard and gave no specific reasons for not upholding the complaint. They said they would close the complaint if they didn't hear from us again.
I wrote back to them a week later giving more reasons - ie we are business owners so would continue to pay ourselves if I'll etc and asking for specific reasons why it was not upheld.
We received no reply from them so my husband called them on Monday
asking if they've received the letter. The lady said yes but no response
had been issued and the case was still closed. She asked why it hadn't been upheld and my husband said no specific reason had been given in the letter. The lady asked what the reasons were and what we wrote in further letter. When we said self employed business owners she said well you should have told us when you took the loan!! We told her it was on the paperwork we have. So she said she would reopen the case and would be in touch.
Interestingly, at the beginning of the call she assumed it was the mortgage we were complaining about, it's not.
Today we have got a letter saying
'we wrote to you on 13/09/11 to advise that your PPI complaint had not been upheld. We reached this decision after evaluating our records relating to the sale of the policy and using all of the information supplied to us.
This letter was a final response and we have therefore closed your complaint file. However, we are currently reviewing our sales from 2005 onwards and if we identify a need to further asses your sale, we will contact you. You do not need to do anything.'
Help please:D
Bank of Scotland is the next rung of contact I presume.0 -
Little_Italy wrote: »Congratulations Smitchy73. Im a newbie here. I wonder if some of you old seasoned professionals can help me. Im waiting for paperwork to come through from the FSCS as Picture no longer exsist as I was mis-sold the PPI (various reasons - the same as everyone else I suppose). This is going to sound horrendous but at the time consolidating debts etc was the best thing to do. I took a loan out in June 2006 for £43,000 with the PPI totally approx @ £10,900. The monthly repayments including PPI to date is £434 per month, I am 5 years 4 months through the 25 year loan period and have received rebates totalling approx £5000 during this time. The PPI runs out on the 5th year. Can someone please help me to estimate what the likelhood of getting a refund back or compensation regarding this. Help appreciated! Thanks.

Take a look at this thread too,i know it is old,but if you get to the past year or so,you may find some posts that will help you with the payout.

Hi everyone, I sent a letter off to lloyds on 26th august regarding mis sold loan ppi, I know they had been given the extension of 16 weeks to deal with complaints, is this still the case? I know they received it cause I checked my recorded delivery receipt, but they haven't even acknowledged the letter. Is this common?
Hi mag they should acknowledge within 14 days of the complaint being received0 -
Hi littleitaly, although I don't have any experience of this myself there are a couple of people who have had similar styles of loans. They may not be about till this evening so keep an eye out for the likes of cappo, amersall, and dizzydi and niggly.
As long as you have a reason for your complaint of mis-sell you should be okay, I know there have been other payouts from the FSCS on behalf of Picture and various others who have gone out of business, although I think they can only pay out up to 90% of what you're due.
Although you've had some rebate back it's not what you were charged originally and the interest will be charged for the duration of the loan, so you should get back a fair chunk. Not sure how it goes with a recalculation of the loan as I don't know if this can be done but again hopefully if someone with a personal knowledge of this comes along they'll be able to answer this for you.
Good luck and hope you get somewhere on this soon.:D
Hi little italy thanks to the heads up from smitchy yes you will indeed be able to claim if you have reasons for doing so and there's always reasons for loans namely being frontloaded i have just did a 5 loan roll up with hsbc and won.:D:D:D:D:D:D:D0 -
For those of you who were mis-sold your PPI by MBNA and discovered that the PPI was underwritten by St Andrews in Southern Ireland, part of the Lloyds Banking Group, here is a reply from Caitriona Hickey from St Andrews Insurance
"I can confirm that St Andrew's Insurance and St Andrew's Life Assurance (UK companies) acted as underwriters for some PPI policies sold through MBNA. The claims administration of these policies was (until recently) administered by Halifax Brokerage Ireland Limited which is based in the Republic of Ireland. Halifax Brokerage Ireland also operates under the registered brand name 'St Andrew's Group'. All legal entities (except for MBNA) form part of Lloyds Banking Group."
AND MY REPLY
Thank you for your confirmation. My PPI with MBNA, a Virgin credit card, was grossly mis-sold to me by MBNA
When I claimed against the PPI, I was given telephone numbers that were never answered, addresses that never replied and eventually MBNA sent me a copy of what they claimed to be my PPI with St Andrews. The copy was a tatty piece of paper that had no bearing whatsoever to the policy that was sold to me and indeed was not worth the paper it was written on.
I have charged MBNA with fraud under the Fraud Act 2006 and now, as St Andrews is the link in this chain of events as underwriters, it is very important that I, along with many others who dealt with MBNA are fully aware what St. Andrews claimed to be a PPI policy. Could you please forward to me, the actual policy that you provided to MBNA to sell onwards to their customers.
At this point, I must make you aware that I subscribe to various financial forums on the internet and therefore your reply to me plus my reply will be posted for other interested parties to see
I await your copy of the actual PPI policy that St Andrews provided MBNA

Nice one beamer, liked the video too. I wonder how secure these people at St Andrews are, some of HBOS/Lloyds life policies etc were through them, hhmmmnn.

Thanks smitchy, they will no doubt send me the St Andrews PPI sold through MBNA unless they have something to hide and that would be very serious indeed.
Everyone should email Watchdog, Panorama etc as this rubbish must be put to bed soon0
